What can I do if I bought a truck somewhere and the something went wrong with the brakes right after I bought it and there is nothing they can do to fix it. I believe they said it was something to do with the abs system. It is a certified used vehicle from ford. They are supposed to check these things before they sell them right? What can I do to prove they sold me a faulty vehicle to begin with and well constitute a fraud.

There is a full warranty on this truck and was just bought this past weekend. I took the car in on monday night and they have had since and they still cannot tell me what the problem is with the truck.

I mean there have been times where over the 2 days I had it where I would not be able to brake at all and almost went out in the middle of traffic because my brakes did not work.

safety inspection is a huge thing, especially if it was sold certified, they must fix it no matter what, certified means they should have given you some kind of warranty, I work for chevy, they give you a 3 day return policy and 3 month warranty, and now they will do 5 year 100k mile powertrain on all used certified cars. Make the dealer pay or you have a really good case!!!!!
Congratulations, if they do not fix it you might be able to make some money!!
They just messed up by not checking it the right way, raise some hell to know about the problem in the truck, they do not want you to know because they can get in trouble, and for the person who said you have 72 hours, you are wrong, there is no 72 hour law unless we go to you to sell you the car, unless it is certified GM vehicle, I am not sure if certified Ford does this!!

Get together all the paperwork from the sale and the paper that cerifies it from ford and go back to them and tell them the brakes failed right after you bought it and see how far you can get with them.
If they give you the run around then start talking to a lawyer.
But it probably wont go that far.
Any brake system can be fixed by replacing the right parts so there is something that can be done it just takes time and money.

if you bought it from a dealer you should be able to take it back to get it repaired depending on there warranty. The main problem with that is that it still usually costs a lot to get fixed, however if you bought it from another person than you are most likely out of luck since the car is usually sold as is.

i had the same thing happen to me... luckily the dealer i bought it from was nice, and tried fixing the problem, yet never did.
if you bought the truck as is, they do not have to do anything.
if your brakes are making this weird clicking noise after trying to stop, and the brakes don't seem to want to lock into place, then yes it is the ABS.
If you do not have the money to get it fixed, then I suggest that you find the ABS fuse (located under the hood) and remove it.
That is what I did, and now my brakes work perfectly fine.

Used vehicles are generally sold "as is" unless you purchase a warranty at the time of sale. Did you purchase the vehicle "as is"?
There may be a 3 day time period when you can nullify the contract - they vary by state and require you send written notice by midnight of the third day - if this applies it will be in the fine print of your sales contract.
Have you read the fine print?

If you have already tried to take it back to the store you bought it and have them fix it FOR FREE and they won't. Then contact the main ford dealership in your area and explain the situation. They are to give you like a 3 mth guarantee on it and if you speak to a main ford dealership they will tell you the same.

Start researching the Lemon laws in your state. Usually for something safety related they are very strict on the dealer, that if they can't get it fixed in X attempts, they have to take it back.

In most states you have 72 hrs to return a vehicle to the dealer. Check the local lemon laws, they vary for each state. Private owner, you may have to sue or be stuck with the bill.

Unfortunately if you bought it as is, there is nothing you can really do. You can try to get them to take it back under the lemon law; you'll will have to check with your state on their rule and guidelines.

i don't care in case you're "down decrease than." The sub-woofer insanity ought to be international. particular.....you're in the splendid section...."vehicle Audio." while mediocre minds won't be in a position to get the attention they crave.......they revert to the backside uncomplicated denominator......making noise.
