"sell it, not worth keeping, these cars are junk"
Wow is someone a little bit jelouse. The 03/04 cobras are one of the highest rated cars in consumer reports as far as reliabillity and resale goes. Not to mention they rate either above average or excellent in every single catagory, engine, transmission, ac, paint, interior, exterior, and so on. www.consumerreports.com. Also there is not another car in the entire world that is faster for less or the same money. The 03/04 cobra's are also some of the least expensive cars to make incredibally fast. With a pulley swap, cold air intake, exhast, and a sct tune you have yourself a 600+ hp vehical for less then 1k dollars worth of upgrades. Then if you want to be the fastest car on the road you drop 5k on a twin screw blower and for a total price of 25k-35k depending on how much milage your cobra has, you now have a 800-900hp car that can blow away any corvette including the z06, bmw, mercedes, farrai, lambo, viper, or any other car. You cant even buy one of the above mentioned cars for 25-35k nevermind the costs of upgrading it to even put it close to the 03/04 cobra league. Everyone is intitled to there own opinion but what is noted above is fact.
Sorry brother, now to answer your question. I own a 2004 cobra and when I bought it, it initailly had twin 2.5'' magnaflow exhaust with catback (X pipe). I later upgraded to twin 3.5'' magnaflow exhaust with catback (X pipe). Definately, definately go with the 3.5'' with catback, it sounds so much better!! The 2.5'' sounds good, but the 3.5'' is a deep rumble that has big balls. It sounds great. When I went with the 3.5" I spent some time listing to magnaflow and flowmaster and really thought the magnaflow sounded better, but take a listen for yourself and see what you think. Good luck and good driving. If you have a question on whether to do catback or not, call any shop or pick up any article of muscle mustangs and fast fords and you will see that every 03/04 cobra that is upgraded is given catback exhaust because the positives far outwiegh the negatives which are almost non existant. Go to svtsnake.com and ask around or any other cobra site.

Firstly, the Cobras have excellent OEM systems. Swapping it out will not give you much of a power gain in the normal power band (a bit more HP at high rpm). If you are after better sound, some people like flowmasters, others prefer Magnaflow, the list goes on. I suggest looking on the web for sound clips of each muffler. I really like the way Magnaflows sound, but again, stock exhaust worked just as well. Stay away from high flow cats - they kill your torque at low to mid range.
As for H-pipe or X-pipe, the debate goes on. H-pipe gives a nice low frequency roar and better low end power. The X-pipe will hurt low end power but give better high rpm power, and has a higher pitched Euro/exotic sound.
Pick your poison.
