I recently installed front axles on my toyota camry, and now the bearings are worn out. I believe that the mechanic should have detected the bad bearings prior to fixing the axle. He claims that my car is old and something can wear out at anytime but i believe that if he did a complete diagnosis the problem could have been detected and fixed earlier and I wouldn't have to pay another fee for labor.
I know that some mechanics take advantage of women...I hope this isn't the case. Please let me know who is wrong in this matter.

Peace and Love

You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes...

why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance?

Wouldnt it be safer? How about making cars out of that too? Seems like it might be a good idea. I'm sure it would be expensive but arent they already??

I was thinking of modifying a Karman Ghia with a flat-6, upgraded brakes, etc...and then I thought...what if you put the body sheel of a Ghia over the 911...

As is blowing off people "normally" isn't enough, I would love this form of stealth...

I have another small problem right now. The bike was idoling low. It would shut down as soon as I stopped giving it a little gas. I turned up the idol speed and then the rpms were way too high. If the choke is open its worse. When I turn the idol speed back down I go back to the original problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ed

My sister's car was repossesed in 2004 from the dealership. It was a dealer finance office. Anyway, she owed about $5500 on the car and when they listed it for sale again it was listed at about $9,000. I know that they sold the car for more than was owed on the loan, but how do you find out how much the car actually sold for? And if it sold for more than was owed, wouldn't there be a refund entitled?

My 15 hp Mairiner has ran like a champ for several years. The other day when getting ready to fish the pull start cord would not budge one inch. I checked the engine to see if it is seized but it is not. Any ideas on what may be wrong or how to fix this problem?

I am from the Chicagoland area and I am looking to buy my first bike and I need help deciding. So far it is between the 2007 Yamaha V-Star Custom and the 2007 Kawasaki Valcun 500 LTD. What are the pros and cons of each? Which is the more reliable bike? Which company has the better service? Or would you recommend the Yamaha Virago or the Kawasaki Eliminator 125 as a first bike?

My uncle went to a Saab dealer last night and they are offering a $3,000 rebate. When writing up the order the salesperson applied the rebate AFTER applying the sales tax. My uncle didn't think that made sense (common sense would say you apply the rebate then tax the car) so I checked my invoice on a Mazda I bought last year and they did the same thing! The $2,000 factory rebate was applied AFTER adding in the sales tax. That seems shady and I was wondering if that's an industry wide tactic and what the reasoning is. Other than to screw over the consumer!
Thanks

I have a 95 Honda Prelude and just had the radiator replaced. Immediately after that, I had to saw off a hose because it was leaking at the clamp. It was not idling right after that so I bled the coolant (many times). Ideally, when I start it cold (even though it's 70 degrees) it should idle around 1100, and after warming up, drop down to 700-800rpm's. Cold, it idles between 1500 and 2000. When warm it varies between 1000-1300. About a year ago I had to replace my Fast Idle Thermal Valve since the idle was surging from 1000-2500 non-stop. It is not leaking coolant, has been bled using the bleeder valve by the thermostat, and has a fairly new FITV. I know it could possibly be a vacuum leak, but I also read about resetting the idle by unplugged the FITV, adjusting the screw and resetting the ECU. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

My car doesn't accelerate like it should anymore. You would never believe it was a VW Jetta Turbo! It kind of hesitates to go, also my gas is gone in a flash!!!! I have a 2002 VW Jetta, I haven't gotten an oil change since like....October 2006 I think. Now, that I have some funds to take care of my car the way I should have done, I dont want the "Oil Experts" @ EZ Lube to tell me anything that they think I'll believe. So, if any of you have any advice, please do share! ( They told me that I needed an oil change & a fuel filter change). Thank you!
