What is the process for a hit in run/leaving the scene of an accident? My car was recently hit?

and I am going tomorrow to turn it into the police. Will I have to go to court? How long will it take them to find & contact the person if I have their license plate number? Will they just call them that day if they are easily found?
the damage is minimal i just want to make sure i get my money.

I just noticed a 2 inch crack on my 1998 Frontier's exhaust manifold. What are the noticeable effects of having a leak? Do I loose power or gas mileage?? Instead of replacing the part can I weld the crack?

What is initial timing? Do I have to time this distributor with the vacuum advance plugged in and without out it once again? I've been trying to understand this statement,

"A good rule of thumb for a street/strip combo is about 14-18° BTDC initial advance to approx. 35° at 3000 RPM maximum advance".

The battery and alternator are brand new. we tested the wires at the back of the alternator with a light and they both lite up when the truck was running, but the battery was only at 12.5 with the truck running so its not charging. The mechanic thinks the starter is "drawing" electricity and I think the fusible links by the starter are bad.

HI there, I have been without car insurance for about three years, I used to have continuous coverage but sold my car and used one of my girlfriends cars since then. But now I am going to buy / or finance another car. Will I face some sort of penalty, or increased insurance rates for not being insured these past few years, even though my driving record is immaculate and I am almost 30 and besides I had no car? Thank you.

The key in my 1990 Pontiac Sunbird LE will turn to the "on" position, but when I turn it to the "start" position, it wont budge, like there is something preventing it from moving. I have tried moving the wheel from side to side, turning the wheel, shifting in and out of park, different key, and all all have been no good. Key worked fine half hour before.

Ok the truck is still not charging, but I found out that it has an 1984 c10 350 engine in it. The wiring is still the 87 though. I can't figure out why its not charging. I had the alternator tested again and they said its running great, but when its in the truck the gauge shows low and the shop said there is no output at all (they look like they were afraid to even touch the truck, they were stumped). The alternator that is on it is for an 1988, could that be a problem, its hooks up to the wiring just like the previous one. I cleaned the connectors to the battery too, i dont think that will help much, but at this point im desperate. Help if you know, or think you know what the problem is.
Ok I had the wiring looked at and the wire to the back of the alt. post is live so its working and the one that plugs in is working also. The mechanic said that my starter could be giving a draw and that could be the problem. Could the starter be making it not charge, bc its starts up fine?

I have i 1991 buick regal...i posted a ad a couple of weeks ago and got lots of responses ... thanks...the car kinda jerks on the freeway or maybe hick ups on the freeway...my mechanic says its not the engine or the tranny...he says its the fuel..so, I just got a new fuel pump and filter and it still jerked..so, he told me to put some fuel injection cleaner in the gas tank...its been running a little better since I put the injector cleaner in there about 2 hours ago but it still accusionally jerks...any feed back?i drove it for about 20 miles after a put the cleaner in there...

It had sat in my driveway for over a year without being run. After using it for short errands recently over the last week, it died on me. I can start it and it will run as long as my foot is on the gas pedal, but the minute I take my foot off, it dies. Can you tell me what might be wrong? Also, I have replaced the fuel filter and tried to empty the bad gas out of the tank. I can prime it, and it will run for a short period. PLEASE HELP!

I own a Cagllari Pocket Bike. It has a 47cc Single Cylinder, 2 Stroke, Air Cooled engine. It goes up to 40 MPH. I live in Illinois. I was wondering if they are legal to operate on the sidewalk? If not, is there a way I can bypass the Law or throw something in their face (like another law, not a rock) if they stop me? A loop hole is what I am looking for. Well anything right now is good because I can only operate it on MY PROPERTY currently.
