I sold the car on Ebay, the buyer is a car dealer who even without ever seeing the car is now (after winning it) trying to make out it is one of these supposedly inferior 'import' models.

Thing is, we bought with 4 miles on the clock from Virgin cars. We were told is was full UK spec and warranty, and since then have had some warranty jobs done by Renault dealerships who I'm sure wouldn't have done the work on anything other than a 'kosher' model. Renault Bolton also offered a decent price to p/x it though we decided to sell privately - and their man had a good look at the car before coming up with quote!

The Ebay buyer says the reg. plate, when queried, brings up no engine number which he claims guarantees it's an import - though that hardly sounds definitive.

My opinion is that he's trying to beat the agreed price down, even though he won with a higher figure. Never viewed the car or asked for reg plate before bidding on it!

My 98 1.6L 170,000 miles LX (d16Y7) civic seems to take twiceas long to start in the morning. I change the batterylast month(14.5 volt while car running, Change sparkplugs, new air filter, new fuel filter, new pcv valvelast week. Replaced wires, cap, rotor last year they look ok and measure within spec. I even use fuel injector cleaner does not seem to help the problem. I also notice that a trace of coolant under the distributor so I change out the heater hose and problem did not go away. That a sensor with one wire on it. What is this sensor anyway? Could that be the problem. I see somemoisture on the wiring boot too. The car drives normal in the afternoon when I leave work. It starts up right away! The engine sounds normal and runs at 34MPG . What can be wrong? Any info will be great. Thanks in advance!

And if somebody knows Spanish too, which would be the best for "velero"?
But anyway, the difference between these two is the most important part of this question.
Thank you.

What is the best and most long-lasting method for eliminating odors from the interior (fabric) of an auto? Not masking or covering up, but real elimination.

1998 grand cherokee. all time 4 x 4. it started out making a whinning noise from where the shifter is located(only when the car was cold). now the car has to be warm or it doesn't want to shift from 3rd to 4th(it's fine when it's warm). the truck makes a loud nasty clunk when it is put in reverse from park but if i go from park to say drive then into reverse it is fine. i know a lot about cars so fixing it myself isn't a problem or if someone can point me in the right direction and tell me what to look at then i am sure i could figure it out. trtans fluid is fine. my trans knowledge is not the greatest. thanks.

it has an "exhaust manifold heat control valve"- exactly what does this valve do? what is its purpose and/or function? the owner hasnt run the truck in about a year, we got it started yesterday, but smoke started coming up from around this valve right away! haynes manual tells how to "service" this valve (spray it with a solvent) but says NOTHING else at all about it, ANYwhere in the book? btw, it does appear to work properly, too.

The seatbelts in my car will not retract for nothing. It's the same story for every car of my model. It's juts a bad design. I've traced the flaw down to the retractor. It's just not powerful enough to pull the belt in the way it is setup. Anyone know of anything I could replace it with that would be more powerful?

Cars have options of bio fuels and electricity.. Ships have nuclear options... But what fuel option does an airplane have?

We hear of airline fleets expanding and newer, better and bigger airports being built all the time, but is there an eternal source of jet fuel?

Hi everyone!
I've got a question concerning the battery of a VW Golf (rather a cheap model, but fairly new (2004/05)). What's the average time one can let the stand light switched on until the battery runs flat? The car is not used daily.
It would be important to know where you've got your informations form (sources, etc).
Additionally, can one not assume that a newer model (even if "cheap") would make some sort of noise if one forgets to switch off the lights?
Many thanks for your replies!
