Look, let's be straight up- glues have a B(*&^ of a time adhering plastics together. Especially in an outdoor environment. silicone adhesives are the best for weathering (and ability to resist water, heat, and UV). these are not considered structural adhesives (cannot withstand loads).
Your next step is to use a methacrylate with a plastic primer. ITW Plexus and 3M 6010/6005 are methacrylate systems that can withstand mother nature. the 3M is used to bond top and bottom headlamp housings together. the Plexus is used to bond topdecks to hulls (boats). these would be the only systems guaranteed to stick well. I am unsure if you, general public, have access to either of these. go to a really good hardware store and ask, or go to web and search the above keywords.
again, the addition of a plastic primer is highly desirable. Lord makes something called 459T that works very well for plastics.
gorilla glue- moisture cure urethane is not going to hold up to the weather on a plastic app. even less of a chance is a 2 part epoxy. 2 part urethanes are in the middle. I still would not give them an icecube chance in hell of surviving more than a year.
as you found out, super glues (CAs) are NOT structural adhesives. they are only utilized in industry for simple, cheap bonding applications. even then, these are becoming fewer and fewer. CAs are great for suture replacement.
go to the used car part store, buy the housing, buy a can of paint to match the car, and replace the correct way. you will spend less time doing this than I just spent writing all this....

This seems like a perfectly reasonable solution to a single guy. That's one reason I am now single. One of the hassles about being married is that life is no longer this simple. Take the garbage (please take it out while you're at it). No, I couldn't just take it out to make the little lady happy. I had to replace the platic bag with the right replacement bag and wipe the inside of the kitchen trash container to an antiseptic glow (you had to make sure that you could eat off the thing - or voila, your next meal may actually be served inside the trash container). That was just the tip of the iceberg. When the little lady gets to looking at new colors, that meant that somebody was going to be painting the outside of the house soon in the july heat. Don't argue about it - just do it (trust me, you will lose the argument, feel like a fool, and go crazy if you try to buck the system). So the ignition switch on the Cadillac wears out. No big deal: You take two wires off of it and patiently explain to the wife how to connect them when she wants to use that car. It's no big deal! That is, it is no big deal until the wife finds a way to scew it all up and set the car on fire at the same time. Should you have dashed down to buy a new ignition switch right away? Well of course, but men are procrastinators - we are simply not made any other way. Women have a way of making us feel guilty about our procrastination and have no sympathy for the normal guy who is simply a perfect model simplicity and the general human condition. So, when you look for that tube of Krazy Glue remember that you are putting your relationship into real jeaopardy. Easy solutrions will be treated harshly and you will probably be a single guy like me in the very near future.

Try "Gorilla Glue" or Epoxy.
I've recently started using the former, and had good luck with it.
The latter is usually sold in a "dual tube", where each tube contains half of the mixture. When the two halves are combined, you get a tough, resin-like adhesive that, in my experience, is the best.
Both will be available at your local hardware store.
The only tricky part will be to effectively clamp your mirror to your car while the glue or epoxy sets. Hopefully, you can roll down your window and put one end of the clamp inside your car and one outside (on the mirror).
If all else fails, there's always duct tape!

You can use epoxy but make sure is for plastic. Make sure that is tight and because is a mirror use tape to hold in place.
Another costly solution is to buy a new mirrow.
