ok this is weird, ( has never happened to me) when my system is on every now and then there is this weird sound that comes outta my subs, like a whining soundyou can even here it if the volume is turned to 1. if I turn it up is stays the same (the noise)? it only happens every now and then, what can it be, And how do I fix it? A noise suppressor????

I waited 1 hr. 15 min. to get tires put on my car when They finally told me they were out of my particular tire. Instead of an apology, I agot ( hey man bad news , no tires in stock ) , no apology or hey I'm sorry for the inconvenience or anything. So I want to complain to the co. about this matter.

Hi,

I recently replaced my car radio, and lost the key code. after much agrevation I got the code. I enter the code press "ok" and then the screen reads WAIT, for ten minutes then the screen goes back to reading code, I enter it again and it reads WAIT once more, this repeats every ten minutes. It is the factory installed radio for mercedes kompressor.
Can you offer any advice?

what is more economic...using air con in your car and therefore using much more petrol or having the windows open and causing drag on the car and therefore...using much more petrol??

I have an 85 GMC Suburban that has a new battery, alternator and starter. For some reason when I start it and let it run and cut it off, it won't start. If I let it sit for about 10 minutes it will start right up. It seems like the battery isn't charging or something. It was running fine until last night. I was told that maybe a wire is loose on the starter. Can someone help me?

I was on a 2 lane street in a wooded area at night and it dodged out. I didn't run it over, but I hit it. Not even half of it's body made contact with my car, but it still did some damage. The passenger side headllights are bashed out, theres a dent on the right side of the car & my hood is bent up a little. It was fine to drive last night (just had to use my high beams), but this morning, it jerked and shook as I turned it on & changed gears. I called my insurance place last night & left a message since it was after hours. They returned the call this morning & gave me the # to the place that handles claims for my state (VA). I'd like to know if you've experienced hitting a deer before and what are some tips and helpful advice that I can use? Just for the record, I have full coverage with a $250 deductable, but I'm not sure if there are any odd stipulations since I hit an animal & not another vehicle. What would it take for them to "total" my car out?

Is anyone else as scared by this concept as I am? I'm not a technophobe, and I sure don't think that computers are going to take over the world in some Terminator/I Robot/Matrix type revolution.
My fear is from the ever growing list of things that "out of convienence" people have stopped learning how to do. Top of the list? Basic math, and spelling. Those two skills are all but extinct in some high school graduates, but hey, that's ok, they have calculators and spell checks. Those solve everything.
Back to the Self Parking Cars. Isn't parallel parking a basic skill that drivers need? Sure, I can't remember the last time I actually had to parallel park, but I'm fully confident in my ability to do it if the need arises.
Isn't the mechanics of knowing how to parallel park a good exercise of understanding what your car is capable of?

This is the Limited model with the automatic climate control. Last year, one of the wire connections on the heater resistor burned up, and the fan quit working. I took the resistor out, took it apart, and re-soldered the connection. It worked fine for about 9 months, then the heater stopped blowing hot air. It still blows OK, but the air is cold. (During the 9 months, the radiator sprung a leak, engine overheated, and the head gaskets blew out. I had a different engine and a new radiator put in. The heater was still working for awhile after that.)

I live in NC. I was rear ended on an interstate off ramp by a tractor trailer. I had been forced to come to a complete stop because the 5-6 cars ahead of me had stopped. The tractor trailer was going about 7-9mph at the time. I was driving a Ford Explorer. There were only scratches on my bumper from the accident. The guy's insurance company just called to let me know they would pay for me & my 2 children's (5 and 10 year olds) medical bills and give me $150 for the scratches on my car. The medical bills came from going to the doctor to see why we had headaches the following day. Plus my neck hurt so bad I could not turn it without pain and my right eyelid was drooping for some reason. I missed a week out of work due to pain & drowsiness from the muscle relaxants my doc prescribed. Accident was 1-1/2 weeks ago ,Oct.13 2006. I didn't do a police report cause an officer directing traffic in the area said damage to my car was too minor to file. Is $150 + medical bills a fair settlement?

I have the base LX sedan, SPI engine, auto transmission, 85,000 miles.

I have changed plugs/wires/coil/PCV/checked for vaccum leaks and found none/changed EGR valve/DPFE(EGR) sensor/used fuel injection cleaner/changed fuel filter and still no improvements.

You can floor it and it refuses to accelerate at first but slowlp picks up steam and moves after a few seconds. It stumbles badly upon acceleration and goes through 1/4 tank of gas in <20 miles.

Ayy suggestions what else to check? I would suspecting the catalytic converter (maybe) but there is no sulfur smell/smoke from the exhaust that is abnormal...

I need to pass emissions this weekend too. Thanks :)
