This is not a fun job. Sometimes the engine has to be lifted to get at the bolts. Best not to do it yourself.

this is a fairly easy process, but is actually a pain to change. the starter sits right where the font cross member sits. you have to pull the 2 bolts that hold it to the block. remember that one is actually longer than the other one and the shim only goes in one way, and is a must or the starter gear will hit the flywheel and not engage properly and cause damage. as you pull the starter out you have to rotate it towards the front of the car on its bottom across the cross member. pull the two wires on the back. the big nut should be either as 14mm or a 15mm. the small one should be a 7mm or a 6mm.. don't remember. and remeber the first thing you should do is disconnect the battery. it should take about 30 minutes to do this.
and don't remember if one of the bolts stays in the starter when you pull it out or not. its been a few years since i've done one. and i don't think that you can use a ratchet, you have to stick with hand wrenches. not enough space in there.

I would go get you a chilton's repair manual and follow the procedures. Sometime starters can be a pain depending on the vehicle.

They have books on all cars at auto zone and they are so handy, it tells how to fix just about anything, and there not real expensive about 12.00. I got one for my car and it's more then paid for itself.
