I live in Ohio and I have a 1985 Chevy Diesel pickup. The problem is that I need to leave it sit for about 10 hours while I am at work and I will not have the option to plug it in during this time (like I do when it sits at home over night). I've heard that starting a diesel in cold weather can damage the engine if it is not heated. Do I need to be concerned about doing damage to the engine when I start it after work? At what temperature might I have to worry about this? At what temperature does diesel fuel start to jell?

well creskin thanks for your reply just to hear you say the radiator it all comes to a clear view to me. my ac will not hold freon, & the engine shakes and i guess thats why the guy want to do the flush. the other choices you gave me i now nothing about. and would the flush help the guy determine whats wrong with the car. and can it be repaired.

i have noticed quite a lot glassfibre stuff coming out from the exhaust of my '93 astra, i have looked at the exhaust and cant see any hole or anything so why is this happening, what needs to be done and what effect will is have as the car seems to still be driving ok..

Where I live theres a roundabout where very few people understand the rules of giving way to your right so I have nearly hit cars on more then one occassion so I look both ways now all the time and it is really p*ssing me off - bad drivers. Is it wrong to get a big bit of cardboard and write on it

I have a 2004 Honda Civic with two problems:
1. The warning noise that sounds when the lights are on and the driver's door open no longer sounds.
2. The overhead light does not come on when the driver's door is opened; it does come on when the passenger's door is opened.
How to remedy these problems? The Internet hasn't been too helpful so far.

It was running fine and then one night when driving home it just shut off and i havent gotten it to start since, it tries to start when i try to turn it over and it sounds normal(no metal or grinding or anything abnormal).
there is no gas coming from the fuel injector, we unhooked the gas line to the injector and the gas is getting pumped to the injector and the fuel pump kicks on fine.
We also looked at the spark plugs and they get no spark we i try to turn it over.
We also checked all the fuses and they were fine.
My friend was lookin for a fuel reset switch but we cant seem to find it on the 88 celebrity,looked all in the trunk but couldnt find it.

i got a free fairmont last week. the engine had been set in the car, but not mounted. now i know why. the oil pan is the wrong shape. the car is an 83 and the engine is a 78. it has a single sump oil pan, and i looked at another fairmont with a 6 and it had a double sump. where can i get a new pan? none of the auto stores can get one, and these cars arent in any junkyards around here. what other cars have this oil pan? thak you for reading this...
