I have a 2004 Honda Civic with two problems:
1. The warning noise that sounds when the lights are on and the driver's door open no longer sounds.
2. The overhead light does not come on when the driver's door is opened; it does come on when the passenger's door is opened.
How to remedy these problems? The Internet hasn't been too helpful so far.

Your driver door sensor switch had bad connetion. Use your finger to press and shake the switch and see the overhead light comes on. The switch is not on the door, it's somewhere near the bar code sticker.

1. Check Fuses.
2. Check the sensor on the door hinge, it might be stuck! WD40 works.
