In the first year of passing your test you can get points for traffic offences, but instead of 12 being the usual disqualification total, you will be limited to 6. If you get 6 points, you have to re-take your test.

Not sure if you are asking if you get a free ride for a year, which is NO. Or, are you asking do you get to keep your license if you get points in the first year? You spelled it licence, so you may not be in the US.

In the US, you get points for every reportable moving violation and if the violation is bad enough, you could lose your license.

Yes, although getting 9 points within your 1st year means you have to re-take the driving test!

You can get points from the start of your license. Once you get a total of 12 current points you will be banned from driving. Points stay on your license for 3-5 years.

For two years after you pass your test you are on a 'probabtion' period. If you accumulate 6 points you'll have to retake your test. Normally it's 12 but for 2 years, you are limited to 6.

That's why people get those 'P' plates. "I'm a new driver, please don't pick on me!" As a rule I wouldn't get those though!

In the UK you can get points at any time.
However, if you accumulate 6 points or more in your first year you get an automatic ban, and have to re-sit your test.

After the first year you need to accumulate 12 points to get an automatic ban.

Yes, and the number that you are allowed is lower than if you have been driving longer. New drivers are only allowed 6 points, and more experienced driver are allowed 9 points.

Yes. How many points you can accrue on your license has nothing to do with when you pass your drivers test.
