Okay. We have a 1995 Nisan Pickup XE. It's a V6. The starter went out in it finally today. My husband took out the old one and put in a new one. Well when we start it, the positive side of the battery cable sparks and it doesn't start. He rechecked all the connections and everything seemed okay. It's a new battery so we know it's not the battery. Coming off the truck there is only two connections to the starter: a plastic plug and the other screws directly onto the starter. If anyone can put any input I'd greatly appreciate it and please only answer if you actually have an answer pertaining to my question.

The battery light in my 00 Mazda Protege has been coming on periodically for the past few days. I just had my battery checked and it's fine. However, the "volts are jumping up and down,17 to 11 when normal is 13" per a mechanic. I requested the alternator be checked but the response I received was "we can replace it". I have this feeling he ignored my request because I'm a female. I hope to be proven wrong with your answers.

I know people who got the run around with battery and alternator when in fact it turned out to be the catalytic converter. I would like to avoid the potential money pits of what if's. Is there a way to check if the alternator and/or catalytic converter needs replacing?

This past month, Toyota two of the largest car companies in sales in the U.S (only in united states). It is catching up to GMC, but isn't quite there yet. Do you think Americans should support American cars, or should we buy Japanese cars such as Hondas and Toyotas.

I just turned 16 and now I need a car to get me to and from school and my pt job. I've been searching for a car that I could afford because my parents said my grades weren't good enough for them to buy me one. I've searched hard and I think i found it. It's a 1997 Bonneville SSE with 205hp. Everything works excellently, but it has 128,000 miles on it. I'm not much of a car person, so I don't know if I should buy the car. I only plan to keep the car for two years until my parents buy me one and I don't drive far. So should I get the car even though it has so many miles?

When i hook up the power wire to the battery terminal and start the car, it clicks and then never turns over. When i disconnect the amplifier and just hook the speakers up to the headunit, i need to jump start the car and then it all works fine. But with the amplifier hooked up, the engine won't go.

So it not might be much, but what modifications can I do to an '86 300zx with three thousand dollars (that works completely perfectly by the way)? Either I get a cheap used car or I spend that budget to modify the Nissan...any advice? Thanks, I appreciate it!

I bought my truck knowing it had some damage on the roof. The paint is now starting to peel off and there is also some rust. I currently have full coverage with $100 deductibles. When my insurance agent was taking pictures, he didn't even look at my roof. Would you submit a claim? If yes, what would say caused the damge?

My speedometer and odometer stopped working on my 72 Ford F100. I'm not sure where to look. I've been told it might need some graphite lubrication on the gear attached to the cable that runs from the transmission. I'm not quite sure what to do.
