This past month, Toyota two of the largest car companies in sales in the U.S (only in united states). It is catching up to GMC, but isn't quite there yet. Do you think Americans should support American cars, or should we buy Japanese cars such as Hondas and Toyotas.

This is still a free country and you can buy what you want , but the more that is spent on foreign products means less American made products, and after a while there will be none made here. How many stores can you go into and buy a pair of American made shoes? It's going to happen some day as we are greedy people and could care less if our neighbors have a job or not,we will just keep on buying from the Japs & chinese. I have never owned a foriegn made car I have always found an American made ride that was as good or better anything on the foriegn market.

A true RED, WHITE, & BLUE American would never stoop so low as to help another nations economy by buying their vehicles. Help the USA's economy and go buy a GM, Chrysler, or Ford vehicle. Don't listen to the car magazines either, they are bought off by the foreign automakers to make them look good. Go look at the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and 2007 GMC Sierra on their websites, it is the end of the Japanese trucks. Plus, the rebirth of muscle cars is happening and these little Honda Civics will not be able to run with the Camaro, Charger, Mustang, and Challenger.

they may build toyotas here, but they are NOT an american company by ANY stretch. we need to buy american cars to support our country. and it's not like we have to do them a favor, GM quality has really improved. stick with GM over Ford. Chrysler is also good. And also, Toyota didn't almost beat GM by any stretch. in the month of july GM's sales doubled toyotas, and toyota is second. so, like the other person said, have an open mind when looking at everything, and you will be surprised at american quality.

I think American car companies can build high quality autos, and the current collection is about as good as most Japanese brands. Do I think we owe it to GM to buy cars just because they employ American auto workers? Well, maybe I do. But it goes both ways. Domestic manufacturers must build innovative, high quality product.

I think if you're in the market, you should look at both domestics and foreign with an open mind, and be ready to be surprised with the quality of the domestic brands.

Foreign vehicles (where parts come from) are very expensive to repair. Yes, they do break down, too, and just a few percentage points ahead of GM.
What percent content manufactured/foreign and then assembled in America/Foreign is your car? It would suprise you.
