You will need to get inside the door (remove inner pannel) and see what is broken or loose. Get a repair manual to see how to remove the door pannel. The problem w/ the window will be obvious once you can see what is going on inside.

You can fix this. (if I were you, I would go to Autozone and buy a repair manual for your Altima first). Remove the interior door panel, carefully peel back the moisture barrier and inspect the window lift assy. It is possible that one end of the lift arm is very loose, missing bolt, etc. causing irregular travel when used. It could be as simple as replacing/tightening the bolts or as bad as replacing the lift gear assy. Still not extremely labor intensive or really expensive.

one of the retaining clips attaching your window to the lift mechanism has broken. i suggest getting a haynes manual to show you how to remove your door panel then once thats off, there are holes inside the shell to access your window ratainers. lower the window till you can see the back retainer through one of the holes. clips (if available for your make) are cheap a few bucks at most.
it could even be that a mechanical fastener has wiggled loose insideand has fallen to the bottom. if this is the case just get a magnetic pickup tool and try to retrieve the little runaway then using some blue threadlocker put it back in

Its off the track. Take your door panel off using a forked pryer and reset the window. If you have taken the rivets off carefully just push them back on, if not, you can get new ones for about 150 pennies at any walmart.
