Hello! I am trying to figure out where to move in order to get a good job and be able to afford our own place. I am married, 31 yrs old and had experience as admin and also worked as a waitress. My husband owns a painting co. and can work in construction/painting. We were thinking about moving to Las Vegas, does anyone know how the property taxes are, how is the job market at the moment? Other places would be considered as well, but we prefer warmer climate.

I was served a 3 day notice on Sept 11 07' in the amount of 302.00 that was my balance. On Sept 13 I gave a money order in the amout of 303.00 to the office got a reciept and everything. They then put me in evictions. I had to pay an attorney that helps tenants in wrongful evictions win cases $400 just for a month to go buy and 3 days before my court date the attorney for the apartments decides to dismiss the case. That's cool but I actually lost time from work because of this. And all the expenses traveling to see this attorney I now still have to pay for the entire month of October when I had to pay all this money for something I did'nt do. I lost money to my attorney and though I have money for Novenber I am short for October. They knew I paid my balance when they put me into legal. But they still did...putting me though all of this stress for no reason at all...Please some one. What can be done about this.

would love some advise, im thinking of buying a structurial damaged house of my ex brother inlaw, some damage in roof which would cost 10thousand to fix the house i got it valued 4, 180thousand as it stands he selling 2 me 4 160thou and estate agent says if i spent 70thousand i could sell it for 300thousand.

my big problem is i would have to sell the house i in now to buy it but with the market the way it is now i v'worried, he has someone else ready to buy if i dont, my ex bro inlaw is willing to let me go in and work at the house so as i can get structure fixed to enable me to change my mortgage over on the condition that i give him 5000 now 5000 at xmas and 5000 in march if my house hasn't sold by then, we are going to use a solicitor and im going to have him sign this agreement because i realy want the house he is selling as it was my sisters, but should i trust this way of going, it is my only chance of getting house and was suprised when he agreed, all sensib advise very welco

I am looking to buy a house and I have noticed that some are listed as having a heat pump for air and heat. I had never heard of a heat pump before but I have done some research on them now. I am wondering if anyone that has a heat pump would tell me some pros and cons about using them for cooling and heating.
Thanks!

but they went up on our rent by $500 and they just informed us 10/15! Short notice I know. They did say it would not take effect until 12/2 but I want my security deposit back so we have enough $ to move so we need to be out by 11/2. We have found a house and we are waiting for the application to be approved...we have paid the app fee and half of the security deposit so the house is held off the market...there are other applications they have received but since we are the only ones who have paid a deposit would our application be considered first or be the only one considered? I'd call and ask them but the secretary is snotty and plus we have called a gazillion times to check the status, I hate to keep bugging them! Thanks!!!!

I am a lawyer, we are dealing with real estate agents. Most of them are hardly punctual.

Agreed time is 5pm. They came at 6pm.

Tell me how to educate them / teach them lessons to be punctual, to always be punctual.

Does anyone know an estimate of having a house built that is 2800 ft sqared? We would like to have 4 bedrooms on main floor, a small office, a dining room, living room, and kitchen (all 3 open), a bathroom and a half bath in master bedroom. A full finished basement with a small kitchen, furnace room, laundry room, storage room, bathroom, and small bedroom. All the rest is open. Any estimates would be great. Want to get some opinions before we go to a contractor.

My mother doesnt want to call our Realtor again because she said she will call us as soon as she hears something.

I was on Forbes.com and I was looking at the most expensive houses. One of them was $165 million and had 29 rooms and 40 bathrooms. Why would it have 40 bathrooms?? Do people spend more time in the bathroom when they have a big house?

I live in California and I am thinking about buying a property with a house on it, but the house will be removed from the property.....does anyone know if it's possible to buy a trailer and put it on the lot and connect the whole plumbing and electricity (that used to be connected to the house) to the trailer?

It would be much cheaper that way, but I don't know if it's possible and the whole cost of connecting the plumbing and electricity i hope somebody knows and can tell me. Thank you all in advance.

This is partially my fault, so I'm not going to try to cop out on this. Basically, I accidentally wrote a check out from an old bank to pay my rent, which is about $565, so the check bounced. That is my fault. I know there's a bounced check fee so, np. My mistake.

The problem is I just got notice of this from my Landlord today and while my apartment is only $565, they're tacking on an additional $170.40 for the days I was overdue. They never made any attempt to call me or send me any kind of notice that the check bounced until today.

I live in Nebraska, and while I've looked through the statutes I haven't found anything governing this. I have already decided to pay for my mistake plus the full amount they've calculated, but do I have any legal ground to stand on if I take them to court and recover damages for failing to provide notice and instead allowing me to rack up daily overdue charges?

Hi,
I am moving from Europe to Dallas soon, and I was wondering what would be better to rent a furnished or unfurnished home. We are taking about a 3/4 bedrooms house for my husband, our baby and myself. Do you know if there are good furnished houses for rent or should we go for unfurnished and bring all our furniture over?

Im a tenant in Melbourne, Australia.

I just got visited by the housing agent on the reason of inspection for property value. However, moments after the inspection I got a phone call from the agent that we have kept the apartment in a state worse than it was originally was. Worse part was that we felt the agent was not in a good tone towards us.

Our lease is 1 years and we have occupied for 2 and a half months only. Furthermore, we are students who are facing exams in a week and we have not cleaned around the place for maybe a month. Yet, we are not lazy or have poor hygiene.

Is it right in any sense on their part?

Lawfully, ethically and professionally.

Like NJ's cost of living is too high, compared to CA. Why the huge gap? What is the reasoning behind this? Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We live in California. We paid a $1,400 deposit on a house. When we left, there were *some* issues, but it wasn't horrible.

We got a letter from the property management company stating we would not get any of our deposit back, because the whole house needed reflooring, which totaled over $2,500. There was a rip in one small section of the carpet, and a stain on one part of the linoleum - not enough to justify replacing all flooring throughout the entire house. They didn't ask for us to pay the difference, only that they would keep the entire deposit to help pay for the costs.
Attached to the letter was an invoice from the Home Depot for the $2,500 in flooring. However, it was for stone flooring (before it was cheap carpeting and cheaper linoleum), quoted and paid for two and a half weeks before we moved out. The maximum amount of time allowed to do a pre-move out walkthrough is two weeks before move out.
