I live in California and I am thinking about buying a property with a house on it, but the house will be removed from the property.....does anyone know if it's possible to buy a trailer and put it on the lot and connect the whole plumbing and electricity (that used to be connected to the house) to the trailer?

It would be much cheaper that way, but I don't know if it's possible and the whole cost of connecting the plumbing and electricity i hope somebody knows and can tell me. Thank you all in advance.

First thing you need to know is if the local zoning ordinance will allow a mobile home to be placed on a lot. Many places allow them only in existing parks, where you don't own the land and have to pay land rent.

If you can legally do it, the mobile home should have everything it needs as far as plumbing and electrical. If not, don't buy it. Buy one that's ready for hookup. Can't advise you on how to do that, but the actual connecting by a qualified plumber and electrician shouldn't be that difficult and in total will probably be two thousand or less. Shop around.

The water service is mainly pressurized pipe. The plumber must know about the required pressures, in order to make sure the correct pipe and joints are used for the application. Plumbing repairs are most likely the best projects for beginning plumbers. New construction requires adherence to the plumbing code, which if not done correctly will have to be torn out. That is an expense that most homeowners can not afford. Plumbing that is not inspected, will put the house in non-compliance, which may effect the selling price.
