I just bought my first home ever, and was setting up my utilities (gas/power). They told me I would get a discount of 20% off my bill if I set up my utilities as "Interruptible service".

Does anyone have this service or "had" this service? Does it really save you money?

In your experience how often do they interrupt your service and for how long?

Is it really worth it in the long run "Savings wise" to do this?

Any other information you can tell me about this?

I have this deal through DTE ENERGY in Detroit.

We are trying to close on a house with some office who I believe to be crooks (they messed up the 1st deal, they never return our or the owner of this house's calls,& they take money & won't give us a reciept, ect.) The only time they actually call is to ask my husband for money!
I know they're running a scam, but how can I get some quick action?
We already moved in & are putting everything in our names (electric, gas, ect) but I am afraid the owner of this house is going to get tired of waiting & tell us to move. How can we stop that from happening/? I like this house,I don't want to move!! The owner came & got his stuff out of the garage & said he doesn't know what happened to those guys (in the office). Why is he still taking his stuff?
If there are any lawyers out there reading this,PLEASE email me ASAP..I am so tired of all this house BS & just want it to end. It's been going on since April of this year. Also they made the co-signer sign a contract but won't give us a copy.Help!

I "locked in" at 5.875% a few weeks ago. It's now a week before closing and my mortgage broker calls to say "Good news, your loan is all ready. But the lender could only do it at 6.375."

He tried to explain to me that when they went to the lender, the best they could do now was that higher rate. This, after I had "locked in" with a deposit and everything. It's even printed right there on my "Good Faith Estimate".

According to my broker, a lock-in doesn't really mean anything. and the lender decided that they couldn't honor that rate because I've got less than two years employment history.

I'm making a 50% down payment, with a 765 credit score and no debt. But it's my brief employment history that jacks up my rate, despite "locking in"?

AM I GOING FREAKING CRAZY???

Please, if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.... thanks.

Does anyone know any laws or health codes in MS that say that a landlord has to fix health hazards in their rental property? We are renting and we have mold which I am having allergic reactions to. They refuse to fix it because it will "cost too much money". We are looking to sue and before we get all that started, we need to know if what they are doing is really illegal. We notified them it was making me sick (like really sick) in july and they refuse to fix it. My doctor has confirmed that this is the cause of my sickness. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I just received a letter from my mortgage company stating that because my last property tax payment has not been made yet and is in delinquent status that I am in default on my loan agreement. They stated that I have 30 days to pay the delinquent amount. What can happen if I don't make payment within those 30 days? Can the lender foreclose or report to credit. My mortgage payments are always on time. Never been delinquent with those. Is this just a letter trying to pressure me into paying back taxes right away or does the lender have the ability to accelerate payments, foreclose, etc.?

Isn't there normally 30 days for closing on a house? I am asking because the house I rented ( in KY) got sold and the owners told me when it went up for sale that they were required to give me 30 days to move out. Now that the house is sold, the real estate agent told me I have to pay the new owner rent for the 30 days. Am I getting screwed? I didn't have a lease and I was out within 15 days.
