I got bill for my house tax and everybody told me to ignore it since I'm already paid them from my mortgage, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. How do I find out? There's nothing on the bill. Thanks.

Check your mortgage statement. It should show an amount each month going into your escrow account. If it does, then your mortgage company will be paying your tax bill. If your monthly mortgage payment only includes principal and interest then you will be responsible for paying your taxes seperately

If you have an escrow account for taxes with your mortgage (and most lenders require that you do), they'll pay it out of that. But I'd call the lender to be sure they got the bill - if it came to you, there's a strong chance they didn't get a copy, since usually the bill goes either to the owner or the lender but not both. If you got the only copy, they wouldn't know to pay it.

Double check your mortage statement - if it shows that it is on there under escrow call your mortage co. and let them know that you are receiving a bill. They will more than likely have you mail it to them. I had the same thing happend to me it was mailed in error. If it is not on your mortgage statement and it should be call them both and find out what the heck is going on.
