Can any one advise me on the best mortgage at the moment, at present we are with Nationwide as weve been with them for 7 years now and im not sure if paying 5.9% is good at the moment, my husband usually deals with it and even he is unsure, we where advised to fix it for 5 years which only bought it down by £12 a month and our mortgage is £628 a month OUCH!!!!!!!!
PLEASE ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.....THANK YOU ALL

Yeah = it's a nightmare .. I ended up spread-sheeting the 10 or 12 'top choices' over 2, 3 & 5 years to try & get the best deal ... (don't forget - if you switch Mortgage Companies you have to pay new valuation & Legal fees .. not to mention Applications Fees, Booking Fees, etc etc etc)

.. eventually I gave up and signed up for a Offset Index Tracker with my existing provider & no additional cost...

My mortgage is with Nationwide. After the first 3 years fixed deal; they proposed to increase the interest rate. I spoke to one of their advisors and ended up getting another fixed deal at just slightly more interest than the first deal with them. I think the key is to negotiate and threaten to go elsewhere.

See a mortgage advisor, they will find the best deal for you. Its usually free the first visit.
