ok so we had no car and our landlord offered to help. He sold us a car for 3,600. we paid him weekly for the car and rent with cash no recipt.(BIG MISTAKE) We have been paid up in full for around 4 months and everytime we asked for our title he would come up with an excuse. I know he said he had to release a lean??????? I have an idea but I am confused. Then he said that the title should of been mailed to us a year ago... Well here comes the problem we recently moved out of the house due to him just being an ***.....he called because he thinks that we still owe him money for rent. We told him we didnt so he says he is going to take it from the car and then repo our car.. Remember there is nothing in writing is all mouth to mouth. Rent car all of it!!! The registration is in our name but that it. What do I do. ???? I know that rent and car are seperate things. I also know that we were blind and stupid...live and learn...right?

If you owned a house in Maine;a two bedroom house with about 2 acres to go with it, a rental trailer on the land, room for pigs {fenced in, and a fenced in yard for pets,}on the coast 2 min. walk from ocean, and it was on an Island where life is laid back... AND you owned a house in florida, two bedroom , close to disney, heart of florida, fast paced...nice house fenced in yard for pets or children, safe neighborhood, friends in both places, had a boat, and loved both houses;and you had to sell one of the houses, which would you sell?

Right now I can buy a palce but...everyone is giving me diff advice. Seems as though most say RENT right now because prices will continue to go down thru 2008. I always though by renting it was a lot like throwing your money ou the window being that your not paying on a mortgage. Whay do you people think. I'm in California.

I am being sued for rent money. here is what happened

- me and one other girl go sign lease for a 2bed 2bath apt. give the company the name of the others that will be on the lease so they can come in and sign when they get a chance.
- one of the others signed but the other didnt (we will call her M)
-all four of us payed first and last months rent and a security deposit
- M decides that she doesnt want to live with us and lets us know that on June 13th (move in date is June 29th)
-M asks for all her money back. since she didnt sign the lease she didnt have to deal with rental co
-the three of us decided we didnt want to find a stranger to live with us so we would just have 3 people living with us.
- we give M back $800 of the approx $1800 that she paid
- she is now suing me for the other $1000(i am the one who recieved checks and wrote one to rental co.)
deposit = 612 and 2 mo rent = 1200

Do you think she will win in court? Should she have gotten all her money back??

My father recently became seriously ill from our apartment complex negilgence. The complex sprayed chemicals and painted the downstairs apartment below my father's apartment. They did not fumigate or open any windows after doing this. As a result, these fumes came through our ventilation late at night and sickened my father. He is a heart patient with chronic lung disease. This aggraveted his condition and has put him in the hospital. Do we have a case against this complex and what kind of attorney handles these matters?

I have been in my lease for 2 years. I was with a property management company when the new owner said they wanted to lease the home to me when it renewed and not go thru the management company. We signed the new lease in April. Now October the home is about to be foreclosed on. I pay rent on time and still have 7 months on my lease. Can I loose my home? Is my lease no good any longer?

Is there a waiting period? We are filing for divorce. Can we say, we don't have a property together since the property will be on her name only and we are both not on the mortgage.

I am planning to buy a small lot of residential land to possibly put a house on. It is just woods right now, nothing was ever built on it. It was foreclosed on and the property owners association for the neighborhood now owns the land and is selling it. I offerred to buy it and they accepted, however they just stated that it will be on a Special Warranty Deed because it was foreclosed on.
1. should I be worried?
2. should I request a general deed or dont buy?
3. if I ask that they write that they are responsible for any monies owed previous to my purchase, is that sufficient?
Thank you

I have been having problems with my landlord. He seems to be holding a feeling of resentment against me for making him make some repairs he did not feel were necessary. The last time I went to the office to make a request for a work order we got into an argument and we both got very loud (loud voices only no bad words or violence).

Yesterday I got a letter from a law firm stating that I need to be out of my apartment with in 5 days of the date marked on the letter. The letter was sent regular snail mail with no form of delivery confirmation, and was dated Oct 14th. So it essentially says I need to be out on 2 days notice. I have a one year lease, and as far as I am concerned I have done nothing to violate it is this legal?

I live in a house with 2 apartments, I live in one, the landlord lives in the other, and without saying the exact words "you cant use the yard" he has kind of beated around the bush about it..

Also on the deck he has a cooking grill, and we arent allowed to have one.. so we have had to do all our cooking on the stove, which resulted in dishes, and he is complaining that I use "too much water".. I dont understand. Im using LESS than I did in my old apartment, and my landlord never complained about water. I make sure I take very short showers and I dont even do so daily because everytime Im in there, Im anticipating another phone call from him "Why do I hear that water running so much!?!" He and his are the ones doing a good 6 loads a laundry each week, not to mention washing their vehicles quite a bit.

When you rent an apartment, what is included? Is the yard included, or no?

I live in a house of 10 other people and they may choose to stay and may not be responsible enough to take over the month to month lease. I'd like to know if there could be any legal repercussions towards me if the other housemates choose to "squat".
