My parents had signed on a house we like that we want to rent. The paper work and everything has been signed ect. except that was all two days ago. My mother called our Realtor yesterday and she said the home owner who is renting the house out to us was in Mexico at the time, but like I said that was two days ago and we still havent heard anything. We still need to put a payment down on the house for rent. I need hear back from them so I can schedule days off from work to move. We are all getting frustrated we want things to start moving and this guy isnt even responding. Why??? My mother doesnt want to call our Realtor again because she said she will call us as soon as she hears something.

If it's for rent the Realtor should have the information about when you can move in. Maybe the seller wants to wait until he gets back from Mexico to finalize everything. Try to be patient. I would imagine your rent and move in will be November 1, but that's just a guess. If your mom doesn't want to call the Realtor again then there isn't much you can do except wait.

Your only option is to wait for the owner to accept or reject your offer. If they're out of town, then there's nothing else you can do. The realtor can only push so much, and they don't have any answers until they hear from the owner or the owner's realtor. And just cause you submit an offer, doesn't mean you can't keep looking.

For heaven's sake, be patient. It's only been TWO days. If the owner is in Mexico, he/she may well not be reachable. Has it occurred to you that the realtor is not authorized to sign on behalf of the owner, and that the owner MUST return before this can be finalized ?
