We've got a sign in the yards, and now an ad in the paper. We've had a few calls, but no one has come to look at it. We need to sell before the end of summer. We are 'asking' a certain price so we ARE allowing people to try to work us down in case we run out of time (it is a fair price; what the place is worth).
Anyways, the ad should begin running in the paper today. What can I do to this place to make it look more spatious and inviting? My BF is a pack rat; we've thrown away gobs and gobs of stuff, but still have a lot of things that should be in storage (we can't afford that). We've painted the back bedroom, and plan on painting the other 2 bedrooms, one of the bath rooms, and the laundry room. I've taken most of the pictures off of the walls to make the room look bigger (but now there's 2 big boxes taking up space in the back bedroom!).
Anyone have any tips or links for how to make the place look bigger and better?

If I(single male) have 750 FICO score & make $2,800 a month before taxes, could I get a 30 yr fixed loan with low interest rates for a $500,000 3bd/2ba home near Los Angeles?

I do have a 2nd job which I make additional $2,500(doing mechanic work for customers on weekends & at night after my regular work) but I get cash "under the table". Is it going to be a "do-documentation" loan or can it be a regular loan since I only have $2,800 official income which probably is not enough for a $500,000 house. Could you be specific?

I am looking for an apartment and someone told me to be sure that I don't have any rental judgements. (Specifically "judgments or debts for money owed to landlords")

Please tell me:
WHAT ARE CONSIDERED RENTAL JUDGEMENTS OR DEBTS OWED TO LANDLORDS?

mlsalliance.com used to provide this service, but was acquired last year and no longer has this. I need something where I put in a street and parameters (ie 2000-2006) and get all properties that sold on that street in that time frame. I am not interested in any less convenient methods (county records, zillow, etc...)

My wife still owns her townhome and just rents it out to a family friend for about what we pay on it each month. This is fine for the most part, except that it prevents us from buying a new house together, since she's on the mortgage of her townhome still. How can we change the status of the property to rental? We're in MN.

i have a lease for 12 months,my landlord refuses to fix problems such as roof leak, rotting walls and floors, electrical problems plus the place is infested with termites and cock roaches.I have sent him a 7 day notice about fixing problem and he still wont fix,i am retaining a lawyer but my question is if he says its going to take too much to fix then what the place is worth can he terminate my lease or will he repay me back rent or damages since i am living in unlivable conditions and paying my rent every month on time,it irks me because i have 2 small children and trying to work this out but hes breaching the lease by not taking care of his responsibilities.Any suggestions or comments i would appreciate

Does your spouse and your name have to be on the lease?? Do you think its wrong of me to sign a 6 month lease knowing I can only stay for 3-4 months. The place says they do 6 month leases and I really need a place. My husband is leaving to Iraq in Sept. so Im gonna leave to live with my family when he leaves because I will have a newborn and 1yr. old.So I'll need a lil help.I can legally break the lease because my husband will be going to Iraq.Thats the military clause but when I get the apartment I dont want to tell them that he's leaving because I dont want to be turned down.Do you think thats wrong?? Do you think Im over thinking all of this?? No haters please.Im pregnant and overemotional so leave your mean comments to yourself because I dont need to hear it.

We are looking for a new roommate in our house, and this is the first time any of us will be choosing a stranger to move in. Are there any questions that are considered illegal to ask someone? We are aware of the Fair Housing Act in regards to what you can post in an ad, but not sure how it applies to questions. My boyfriend is really worried that even the "usual" questions, like habits and likes/dislikes is off limits.

When leaving a rented property how many out there did not get there full deposit back even though you left it just as you found it?
Also has anyone taken the landlord to court because of this and won their deposit back (was it very easy?)

During the day it is quiet, however, in the evenings and on the weekends there is excessive stomping, shutting of doors and cabinets. Everytime I do something ( like open a door, kitchen cabinets,or walk around, it seems that I get followed around the place. Did I mentioned that I live on the first floor?

About 2 years ago the new owners want to convert to condo's and they are making everyones life a living hell. When I moved in I made sure they accepted pets. They for some reason did not want to give a lease only month to month and promised me they would not raise my rent. YEA RIGHT! New owners called me up and left 3 letters on different occassions stating that I need to get rid of my dog or we must move. I freaked and called them and I said nobody is going anywhere my dog is part of our family. Now they want everyone to have every item on the balcony's completely empty not a plant in sight. They said it was a fire hazard. Then I called the new managers and they said the reason for that was they are having people look over the building to buy it . tenants had there rent raised 150.00 a month as soon as the lease was expired. Is this allowed we all think they are trying to get everyone to leave but they still are renting out ?

We made an offer on a home we LOVED - the buyer accepted the offer then found out he could not get a loan for his next house, so he backed out. We needed to move so we kept looking and found another house - more expensive, but we did not like it as much as the other. Everything has been done, aside from closing - purchase agreement, inspection, remedy request, release of financing. Scheduled to close on July 2. Just found out today that dream house is going to be sold - couple separating. Can we, without being sued, switch and purchase the house we initially wanted? Iowa real estate laws.

Buying a house is a big investment. When my husband and I purchased our townhouse, it was actually the first and only place we had looked at. Luckily, we have loved our home, but are now looking for something bigger. I don't want to go with the first home I look at again - how many homes do you think is a good number to look at before picking?
