A few years ago a new owner to our co-op association made an extensive remodel to his unit. This included some repaires to the common area (beams underneath the building) for which he never billed the association for. He did a good job.

Now he is selling his unit. Can he come back and charge us
for the repaires? The other owners never approved the work and he never approached us to approve it or to pay any expenses. Can he sue us?

I am in a neighborhood that is all houses (of varying size and value). Recently someone proposed building two 8 family apartment buildings across the street behind my neighbors house on about 2 acres. Is there any place I can find comparative examples of this type of development and see the impact on home values in the surrounding area? My gut instinct is to sell immediately, but I’d like to have some data behind the decision.

I purchased a house in Suffolk, Virginia November 2006. I just received a bill from the city for a real estate tax. It has information concerning land values, building values, etc... So my question is---Is my real estate tax my property tax or is this something different. If it is my property tax, then this should be taken care of from my escrow. Any info. you can provide would be appreciated!

Hello! We are closing on a house in about one week. We have heard that sometimes lenders recheck your credit history again before closing , so we were just wondering if that is always the case and if so how soon before closing will they do it? It was about three weeks ago when they first pulled our credit and secured our loan... we had credit score of 714. We have got the gas and water, ect. scheduled to be turned on and they all pulled our credit also we need refrigerator and furniture but we are worried about our score being lowered. Any info would be great!

How can something be Zoned (PUD) planned unit development: for subdivisions and condominiums, but not be buildable? The individual said that, "The city has NOT written a development plan for this area. They currently have no plan to write a development plan." What the hell would someone want to buy land for if you can't use it for anything?

My husband signed a 12 month lease with me and then moved out, but before he left he agreed in writing that he would pay half the rent until the lease is up in January 2008. He isn't going to do this now, because I am filing for divorce. I can't afford the home on my own. I have to move our children and my things out, but I was wondering how long do I have have until I am forced out?
