I was denied an apartment b/c the building doesn't rent to "full-time students" Is this discrimination? I received my letter today, and it was dated May 29th, 2007. Now, I turned in my application last Friday 20 minutes before the office was closed, and after the manager showed me the apartment, she told me it took at least 5-7 days for my background and credit to be checked. Me getting the letter today, with May 29ths date lets me know that NO BACKGROUND/CREDIT check was done!!!!! While I was there, I asked her how much rent was, and if it went by income b/c I was a full-time student (but I also have a FULL-TIME JOB!). The manager told me it did, and that I should be fine. NOWHERE on the application does it state that the complex doesnt rent to students, or students "need not apply". I didnt even have to write "student" anywhere on the application. Do I have enough to file a complaint/lawsuit?

Many rising internet real estate database companies went bankrupt because NAR's constant attempt to undermine them. NAR has spent millions of dollars on lobbying congress to make other real estate database illegal. That's why consumers don't have any other choice but to use their propriety MLS system. Why are we letting this happen?

I'm looking for a fixer upper property in the Cleveland or Columbus Ohio area. If something's not up to the local building code (wiring or plumbing, for example), does anyone know how much time would I have to bring the faults up to code? I don't have much money, and I'm trying to budget for major repairs if something went bad right away. Thanks for any help!

I was interested in purchasing a home and signed a dual agency agreement with the seller's agent. Some things went wrong during the purchase and I backed out of the sale. The realtor was beyond awful, but because I had signed the contact, I was bound to the firm. The broker assigned another realtor to me. This realtor is just as bad. I have called the broker twice to complain, both times the broker said she would call back but she never does. My boyfriend even tried to call, but the broker put him on hold and connected him to our realtor!

How do I get out of the agreement? I can't work with this firm anymore.

I live in Fayette County, Texas. FEMA recently re-drew the flood zone map, and my property is in it. Because my home is financed, the Mortgage Company requires me to carry Flood Insurance, resulting in an additional cost of almost $800 per year. Homes in my area that are not in "THE ZONE" do not have this added expense. Based on this info, shouldn't this drop the value of the property, thus dropping my property taxes??? Should I decide to protest this appraisal, would you please provide me with some insite on how to go about presenting "my side of the story", and perhaps some tax law and/or property appraisal info that I can reference to back me up?

The attorney say that he disapproved of the contract and that it wasn't based on price. The only contingency was the closing of my house next month. My attorney wrote back and said he acted in bad faith. Now the seller's attorney is telling me that it wasn't soley on price. Do I have any recourse? (Illinois) My attorney hasn't called me back yet and trying to not pay too much $$$$.

Ok so this might happen and I'm just curious to know...we have a 6 month lease on the house that we're living in right now (we been living there for about 1 month now) and today..the property owner home broker came by and told us that the owner of the house want to sell the place and there will be people looking at the house who are interested in buying the place. my question is that can they kick us out before our 6 month lease is up and if they can, can we do anything about it? And, do we get our full security deposit back?

I Need Help - What is a contingent contract? My x-Mother-In-Law is having a new house built in the SAME neighborhood as me and I don't want her there. Anyways, the new house is contingent. How long does that last? She still has not sold her old house, is there a time frame that hopefully she misses?
