I am currently serving in the Army reserves. I have been considering buying a home. I have looked for eligibility information about the VA loan and what I have found is not very clear to me. I have been in the service for about 2 and a half years so far, and I am not sure whether or not I HAVE to have been deployed for at least 90 days, and/or have served for at least 6 years in the reserves. I have not been deployed and I dont know if there is a certain time period that I must have served so far. Can anyone help me out?

Our house is worth more than what the payoff amount is. However, it seems that there is still twice that amount in unsecured debt to the loan holders of the bank that loaned the money for the house. If we sell it will they take the money from the sell to pay that unsecured debt or will they allow us to pay off the remaining payments. We are in Kansas

I recently signed a 6 month assured shorthold tenancy agreement, but 2 weeks later the landlady told me she had an offer to buy the flat and would like me to move out. We had already agreed to her showing agents around to value the property, and even realised she had allowed an agent to enter without our permission (she apologised and said she forgot to tell us when we challenged her). After this she has bombarded us with phone calls every day to ask whether we have found a property.

We finally got fed up and found somewhere else, and went round to see the landlady to discuss options regarding the return of our deposit and whether or not we would have to pay rent this month (as we can move into the new property on the 12th, rent is due on our existing flat on the 6th). But she now says there's no way she can give us any money yet as the buyer has not exchanged. I feel we have accomodated this woman, even though she has broken the agreement many times and we have not broken it once.

I was contacted by my mortgage company by mail letting me know that they recieved a notice from my homeowner's insurance that my insurance has expired and they have purchased a policy for Fire/Homeowner Coverage ($16,000 yearly) for coverage and they are going to combine the policy with my already ridiculously high mortgage payment and I will have to pay the new amount beginning this month. Can they actually do that?

I'm renting a house now, and applying to rent a different house. On the application it's asking for bank name and account numbers. Why? All my other applications in the past (TAA) don't ask for it. The landlord is renting the house personally and not through a real estate co. I don't feel comfortable giveing her my acct number. what should I do?

We are looking at building a new home. So far we have recieved several quotes ranging from $70 per square foot to $110 per square foot. The home is approx. 3500 square feet. We bought our current house 2 yrs ago and paid only $64 per square foot, but we are not happy with the craftsmanship. We have viewed properties built by all of these builders and seem to be happy with their work, but we are concerned by the differance in price. Any ideas why its so much differant?
