We left our rented house Jan 31st and (verbally) agreed with the landlord's father (who has been acting on his behalf) the little jobs that needed doing. We completed them and have given proof that we have cleared all utilities etc but he won't reply to our correspondence and we haven't seen a penny. The actual house owner works out in Dubai and the tenancy agreement is in his name. Can we take them to the small claims court? The amount owing is £750.

Hi all,
My partner and I live with our 1yr old female russian blue cat. We've lived together in a townhouse for two years, with a perfect rental record, and have stable incomes but cant afford to buy.
NOW, The owner has decided he wants to move back in to our current rental property. With only 6wks left, we have been searching in our local area (we need to be here for my work) for rental places & have so far been knocked back on 10 applications for no other reason than we own a cat. We are starting to get desperate now, as in 6wks we will be homeless.
Up until this point we have been completely honest and always listed our cat's details on the application forms, however with the response we have gotten thus far, we think perhaps NOT mentioning the cat would be a better idea.
We need to know what would happen should we then get caught by the real estate with an unauthorised cat. Have you been, or know of anyone whos been in this situation? What happened?
We're in Australia.
Thanks

I am getting divorced from a lying husband who is in jail for defrauding people, which I had no idea he was doing. He has left my credit destroyed. I can't afford where I now live thanks to him. A mortgage would be less than what I pay now, but because of my credit I am turned down left and right. I also keep getting turned down for any rentals. I swear, my kids and are going to be the first homeless family with a good income. We make too much to qualify for any social services, but only enough to barely scrape by. My children have medical problems, but I haven't been able to get disability for them. If anyone knows of any programs to help a family stuck in the bind that I am it would be greatly appreciated.

So, my wife and I have been married for 6 months and need a new house and a new car for her.

However, everyone I have talked to recommends not making a major purchase before buying a house. Our lease expires in July and we need to provide a 2 month notice. So, do we just suck it up and buy a new house right now and wait till after we move in to buy a new car? Or do we get a new car right now and extend our lease another 6 months? Or do we buy them both in the same time period?

I have excellent credit (740+ fico from all 3 credit agencies) and one car loan already which will be paid off end of year. Very little downpayment to work with though.

Im unemployed, living at home but want to move out. i found a rental for a one bedroom bungalow with separate lounge, kitchen area, dinning area, bathroom with laundry, gas stove. Price inc: gas, electricity , water $135 per week plus bond $585.

I get $235 a week inc rent assistance, till i find work.

What do you think, i would have an extreemly tight budget, but im i dont spend money anyway ,and im desparate to have my own space. Thanks.

My rent was $1700 a month, the management company raise the rent to $2200 a month. We are on a month to month lease, is this raise legal. Isn't there a law liminting the amount of rent raise in one month. Two weeks ago a worker came to our apartment and to checked it out, she emphasized that she wasn't going to raise our rent... Any thing I can do? Oh yea, living in California.

The house I grew up in (we never moved and it is a beautiful lake home) is being sold, currently. It means so much to me, and I've shed quite a few tears over having to let it go. I've already gone out and taken some pictures of the place (I do freelance real estate photography) but what are some other things I can make/do to remember my home?

We have the option to be added to the sellers mortgage, then the seller intends to drop off the mortgage in a year or two, leaving us with the full responsibility of the property.. We do not know the name of this real estate transaction! It is not an assumable mortgage, that is another option for us though.
