I would like to purchase my first home soon. The new homes in my area are very nice but too expensive & sometimes smaller on the inside. The homes that I can afford are older homes (1930's). I truly like the older homes because it has a lot of character and space but normally it needs a lot of repair. My question is, if I am approved for a home loan for a certain amount say $150,000 and I would like to purchase a home for $25,000. Will the bank allow me to use the additional money that I was approved for for home improvements? How does that work? Thanks.

A friend of mine has been at the hospital for different reason the last 2 months and she hasn't been able to pay her rent. She told her brother to take care of it because she wasn't able to, but he forgot, and just never told her he didn't take care of it, but she recently payed the landlord her money. The landlord said she still wants her out because the landlord found another potential renter who's willing to pay more rent, even with a pretty valid excuse, even though before this, she was paying her rent on time and never had an issue with this. Is that illegal, and if it is, where can she go with this??

I am living in this house that is a rent-to-own home. I am paying $600 a month, $100 of it goes to Renter's Insurance. It is pretty much a junky house, but I thought it had potential to be a really nice home. Since I moved in back in June, we have had to call the owner and have them send Epperson out to fix our furnace. The owner said he was going to replace the entire unit several months ago. Now he says he doesn't have the money. Just a few weeks ago, my heat went out, and if I turned on the air, the unit completely froze up with ice. As Epperson was fixing this, my furnace caught on fire. He was able to put it out quickly, but said it was dangerous, and needed to be replace, but it was fixed up for the time being. We have tried calling the owner, but we are unable to get ahold of him.
My two questions are: "Is the owner still responsible for things like this?"
And "If we have heat that works part time, are we still required to pay rent, and is he obligated to fix it?"

My home is already worth nine hundred thousand. It is on over two acres, 2.5. I have 280,000 in the land and house, 30,000 in the shop, isn't that as large of a profit as it will get? It is Lake Tapps Wa. It would be so great to live in a condo and not take care of a yard, not pay taxes, you know, just live. I am 43. I think.

Hello, I live in Los Angeles, and have a roommate in a 2 bedroom apartment.
My current lease for my apartment is over as of Dec 1. I had given my landlord my 30 notice, and told my roommate. My landlord had told me that I even after I leave, and moved out, that I am still responsible for my lease/apartment till another lease is signed, either by me, or a new roommate.? I think this is illegal, and cannot be done,
If anyone can help me out with some info, greatly appreciated.

I need to know the exact percentage of vacancies for CY2006 for a grant proposal. Any data on units lost or added in the past year would be very helpful.

A "mortgage broker" offered me $7500, to put a house in my name for 6 month, because the buyers he has, have bad credit, he said they will pay the bill on time for six, months and then he will be able to put the house in their name. I know this is some sort of a scam I just want to know how it really works.

I am not an idiot, and would dare do anything like this, but I know a couple of friends who are considering it.

Hi,

I'll be moving into an apartment shortly. There is a company that offers appliances to rent through the apartment management. My question is will the 30 dollar a month renting fee be included in my rent, or would it be a seperate bill?

Brief outline - had major problems with letting agent - took months to get tenant out of house - agency have lied about allowing me access to view house when tenant was in - have implied I've done illegal entries (which I haven't) - wouldn't answer my questions.
The agent thinks tenant should get her full deposit back when the damage she left includes a radiator hanging off the wall, dents plaster work, fitted gas hob broken (the list of faults equals page of A4 typed). I've finally received the following in an email from the agency (they are in the wrong and they know it) and I think it's blackmail what do you think?

'Although we disagree with the dicision, we have decided to return the security deposit to yourself in full (£550), this will be paid into your account as soon as we receive an email from you stating that 'this will close the matter and no further action or communication will be received from you in connection with (the property)'
Opinions please.
