Don't know where you are, but you can go to www.realtor.com . Click on the location you want to buy in and listings will come up. You should ask your friends and family to recommend a reputable realtor and mortgage broker who will educate you about the market and loans in your area. Do not use a mortgage broker who is a realtor or vice versa. Also, most good agents have a listing search on their web sites where you can search for local homes directly from the mls. Zillow does not provide active listings and is not accurate when checking the sold prices. check for accurate sales prices.

If you're in Southern California and want to look at homes in OrangeCounty without being harrassed by pushy real estate agents, let me know.
