Not even a title search is going to tell you the year a home was built. That's not something generally included in deeds. Start with the assessment office for your county. They will have an approximate year a home was built. If more recent they will have the exact year. Also check the library to see if they have any info. If an older home, check with some of your older neighbors who may have lived in the neighborhood for a while. Good Luck

Hey - I'm addicted to building on the Sims. I have just built a modern, Art Deco inspired, beach house. Essentially one long rectangle (long side to the sea) - Imagine the rectangle divided into thirds - then make the seaward middle section a a large semi circle with huge windows and doors - Upstairs the roof of the semi circle serves as a balcony for the master bedroom suite. I also build houses inspired by those in my village. Why not try looking through magazines - especially the property sections and recreating - you can do what you like for the inside. I really want to make a big spooky, Munster style house with towers and split levels - maybe I'll do that later!

Believe it or not if the house still has the original toilets the date of the toilet is the date the house was built. The date is usually found inside the tank.

One place to check is the electrical breaker box. Open it up and look around the sides, that's a place where the 'final' inspection will be labled. Should have a date when the electrical system passed (and thus, when the house was approved)

If you know the county that the house is at and the address then you can go to the counties property appraisers website and do a search, it will give you that info.
