This is a quote from a bankruptcy judge in New York. Any comments?

When McDonald's started to allow people to use credit cards instead of paying cash, the average sale went from $4.75 to $7. Need I say more?"

His point was that it wasn't painful to spend the extra money because it didn't really hit the McDonald's customers in their wallet right away.

I was sent a letter from Capital one saying I am approved for an autoloan up to 30k. They gave me the name of some local participating dealer to go to between the 28th and 30th. I called the number to confirm the pre-approval number and it's some automated capital one number. The numbers 18006859508 and approval number is 451320233.

It says I can walk in there with no money down and own a car that day from Deal Maker Ford in Liverpool NY. All I have to do is bring income proof and a utility bill along with my drivers license and insurance to drive a new car home.

This is almost to good to be true. My credit score is only in the mid 600's so I never thought I'd qualify for anything like this.

I have been a customer of capital one for 2 years with a $500 credit card limit thats in good standing.

Me and my fiance have come to a situation where we HAVE to find a car. We have no money to put down and we have SOME credit, but not a lot I don't think and we have no co-signer so thats not an option either. Would it be worth it to even try to get a car loan?

She thought she was charging to hers. She didnt get a statement for the charge (obviously) & neither did I. This credit card has not had activity in years (I thought it was closed) and she signed HER name not mine which would be a HUGE red-flag that I didnt make the charge. I heard nothing that any charges were made (no statements, no calls) NOTHING until I got a call from someone at some collections acgency telling me that the account was sold to collections for being 90 days past due and that call demanding that I pay the back payment plus collections fee & that I have a collection on my credit now. I have pristine credit & enough $$ to pay. Right now I have alot of my credit on 0% interest. This snafoo could cost me my good name & my ability to keep the 0% rates to the tune of thousands in interest over $40 that I could pay easily. I dont want to declare this a fradulent charge because I dont want my mom to have charges pressed - it was an honest mistake on her part! What do I do?

i made a cashiers check to myself with a bank.... is it possible if i sign the back of it, and have someone else's name sign, too... then that person can cash it out instead? bank requires it to be deposited back to my account. is it true if cashier's check has 5000 dollars, you don't have to fill out some ira(?) form, etc.?

I do not want to be responsibile for his debt anymore. He pays on time every month and pays by check. If I take away his card (it's almost maxed), what prevents him from walking away completely and leaving me with the debt? I have never used the card since it has been in his possession, so I would think it would be easy to prove that the debt is not mine at all. Has anyone dealt with or gone to court in a similar situation?

I was told that if you have several high credit limit cards and you transfer balances here and there that you could actually end up using your credit and still not have to put money on the balances until of course you cannot charge anymore. Is this true? Can I transfer balances if I'm in a bind...to hold onto some money then pay the balances off when need be? Is there a good way to manipulate the credit card system?

Thanks. :)
