Right, my bill says the money will be taken out of my account on or after 2nd July. What happenes if the money isn't in on the 2nd?? Say if the money goes into my account for 3rd, will they take it then or will my bank charge me??

I'm a bit new to direct debits, and previously the money has always been in my account for the date shown.

Thanks is advance for your help!!

I note on aaacreditguide dot com, sample dispute letter #1 includes the line, "...you have addresses for me which I do not recognize:" I know my credit report has a dozen or more addresses listed for me, as I have moved more than a few times over the years. Some of them are duplicates, with minor differences. Does this affect my credit score? If the answer is yes, would it be prudent to dispute that alone to the bureaus? What about disputing the really old ones, even if I 'may' have lived there briefly when I was young?

My credit report says my medical bills are not viewable by anyone but me, by law. So, if no one can view them, does that mean they dont affect my credit?

I have a situation here and I am not sure what to do.

I posted a money order to my credit card company over a week ago and the balance hadn't changed when I checked on it today. I rang the company three times today and spoke to three very unhelpful people who could barely speak English. The first one told me that don't take money orders. The second person said that it might take a while and the third person said pretty much the same in other words. All I wanted to know was if they had recieved my money order and they couldn't put me through to anyone. Is this normal.
What do I do here?
It could very well be lost in the post. What do I do then.
It was a $500- money order!!

Thanks for any help

If I had a few credit cards that didn't report to experian, and did to lets say the other two, is it possible that even with bad debt/histories, etc, one agency can list you with a great credit score while the others have you lower?

Also, if that's the case, then isn't that saying you can technically get away with bad credit, as long as it doesn't get reported?

My TransUnion score is 666, Equifax at 675 and experian at 768, or something like that.

It's just so different, and I have absolutely no idea where I stand.

Also, I guess it's foolish to just establish credit history, if you don't know that those creditors are reporting to all 3, or even reporting at all isn't it?

That feels like you're being ripped off at least establishing a credit score, but then again it might come in handy if you're delinquent, or went bankrupt, and those creditors haven't reported.

What's the deal, can we really get away with things if they're not reported, or will the agencies catch on?

I'm trying to find a way to cut into credit card debt. Owe about 17000 now. Transferred about 7700 into a card that is 0% until May, 2008. Other 9200 in a card that will just start charging interest. Should I continually look for 0% deals like this? I guess I should. What's the catch, if any? Thank you.

Im 17 and I have a job. My parents both have jobs and work very hard for what they do have. My mother has a heart condition and about a year ago she had to go to the hospital for pains. My stepdad had just signed onto his insurance company and I guess that they need 6 months before they will cover pre existing condtions. They were sued over that and now pay out 400 dollars monthly to pay that off.Our local clinic is suing them for a time when they took my brother and I to the doctor and it cost 568 dollars but with court costs and fees its now over 1600, although they agreed out of court and it never went there.Im just really stressed and dont know what to do.We can hardly afford to pay our rent and utilities.and other necessary expenses. Its all overwhelming.Do they have any legal rights involving this?Is there something that they should fight? My mother doesn't like confrontation, but Im willing to do the research to help her out of this mess. The added pressure isn't healthy for her.

I just saw this question answered on this forum. The "best" answer said once closed, the info on credit account vanishes. However, I've check my credit report several times over several years with all three agencies. ALL the credit cards I've had and cancelled are there, along with histories of max credit extended, and how long the accounts were open. Some of these accounts had been cancelled nearly 10 years before. I don't know about what others see, or are allow to "count" on credit reports, but it is not true these histories disappear from your credit history.

Need advice for a friend-I thought I would ask here since I myself have never been in this situation. He joined the army few years back-had NO credit @ the time. A car dealer on base took advantage of him (and many others),sold him a car, told him to come back since his credit didn’t approve him for the one he drove away with, and they put him in another car with a MASSIVE interest rate & he was promptly upside down in the car. For over two years, he never made one late payment-but when he discharged from the army-he had to go on unemployment till he recouped from back surgery. During that time he fell behind in payments & has been struggling ever since. He can’t get re-financed since he is already behind in payments, (the finance places said he can’t have made a late payment in past 6 months), & his credit score is low. He owes around 13k on the car, & its worth only $6k. So nobody will refinance until he stays current for 6 mnths-but he can’t get caught up & DONT want repo!

I have some debt that needs to be paid off pretty quickly. My credit is so so, not good enough to take out a personal loan, I have no co-sighner, and nothing for collateral. I need suggestions on a way to pay off this debt. Do I try to consolidate or what? I am leary about using consolidation companies with the high interest and just the whole idea of it. I need about $5,000 to completely wipe out my debt. I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks so much

Credit scoring works?? i.e, when you apply for a loan and you don't get declined you try another company, so the next one declines you again so you try another.... And all that you have applied for effects your credit rating and show's up on your credit report! Do you think this is unfair and it is making things more and more difficult for us people.
