I finally paid this card off after 2 years. I have read other questions and people say leave it open. This is one of three cards I have just paid off. I plan on keeping one open to use as the APR is lowest. If I keep the one card open and close the other two, how will this affect my credit?
Thank you

They tacked on an additional @$2700 onto my loan and since that time my car payment went from $350 a month to $700 a month. Before this happened, my credit was good, and since after that time my credit changed drastically. I've been told that this may be illegal. If anyone has info, please let me know. Oh, and this is in CALIFORNIA.

Thanks!

My husband just got a "levy" from a Sheriff's office (but it wasn't sighned) that a garnishment is going to start due to a credit company from an account he never had.
What is a levy?
Shouldn't something have been sent to him notifying him of a court date or something prior to this?
THIS IS THE FIRST either of us had heard of this garnishment or even anything about the debt they say he has. It has not been on his credit reports. The statement also said that there is a hold on an account at a bank that he never had an account with.
How do we go about finding out about these things?\
We always pay our bills (in fact we just got 2 big ones paid off w/in the last 6 months) so why is this happening?

My wife had her card stolen but the bank isn't covering our losses that were taken through an ATM machine. Even though the account requires a PIN the ATM machine cheerfully kicked out cash, and now VISA claims they are not responsible. WHAT THE HELL GOOD IS A PIN if it's not required??? Now I will get to work the next 4 or 5 days FREE GRATUS to pay off my wifes stolen card PENALTIES imposed by the BANK....VISA IS NOT A SECURE FORM OF BANKING....ANd I would pretty much assume the same is true of Bilk Of America, MASSESCARD and American Depressed.

I want to hear from people who have actually lent out their credit lines and earned money through ICB. What is the exact process you have to go through, how much do they pay, how much personal information do you have to divulge? Who has access to your info? Can you think of any risks involved in this?

I rent a car with Enterprise on an almost weekly basis and have never been asked if I wanted insurance, they only presumed that I was covered elsewhere, but I wasn't unfortunately.

Then I had an accident and I called the guy I deal with regularly and the first thing he said to me was "I can't get a f#$n break!" And then went ahead and told me to call my credit card company for coverage and I said that I thought I was covered with you, but I wasn't because he presumed that my card covered me.
They even made an accident report without me to top that off.
I spoke to the Manager but he didn't seem like he wanted to help me so we ended our conversation.
After that, they sent me a letter asking me to pay.
I've written a letter to the District Manager but to no avail.
If they sent my file to collection agency while I am still disputing the case, how can that affect my credit rating and how can I avoid it?

I need to refinance my auto loan it is currently through wells fargo, and WOW they are ridiculous! Every month ieither send in my payment, make it by phone or pay it online, and every month they are calling about the payment. I have to send them proof that it was paid. I understand that everyone can make a mistake but this company is just stupid! So i want to refinance my loan with another company. Know of any great ones? I would prefer to have a company that will only call if the payment is actually late, and not just missplaced by one of their workers.

If you had access to a tool that offered you an opportunity to improve your mortgage and your credit would you subscribe to such a service? Would you buy the book? Attend the seminar? OR would you just do the same as everybody else and try to ignore the problem?

I am trying to find out the level of interest that would be out there for my system. If it is worth marketing locally or farther out

I submitted two disputes in May with CSC (Equifax). The first was June 9th. No response. The second June 15th. No response. I looked up their page and called the phone # provided but all it does is tell me to check their website then hangs up. Does anyone know how to speak with a person at CSC? They are located in Dallas.

Hi. Someone I know just got a letter about an account she owed money on 20 years ago. She thought she paid it off. I thought if you owed money on a credit card, that the debt is forgiven if you don't pay for 10 years. Now they are looking for 150 bucks 20 years later. Very odd.

Is debt forgiven in 10 years if you don't pay?

What do you do if there is an account with such a small amount of money that is saying you owe when you don't think you do and can't remember something that may have happened 20 years ago?
