Call American Express and ask.

I think there's a law that they have to credit the payment the same day they receive it. So a safe guess would be 4 or 5 days, but call or check online that it posted before making more charges.

Mail takes up to a week just to reach them and another 5 to 7 days for them to credit your account.

It should be immediately. They want their money to earn interest.
