A credit SCORE and credit REPORT are two different things. You are only entitiled to a free credit REPORT, the credit score will always cost you money. The score will usually run about $15 per score but that also includes a report. There are companies that offer "free" scores but you have to sign up for services in order to get that. If you don't cancel in time you will then be charged for the service.

As for the credit report it depends on what you already got. You are allowed 1 free per year from each of the 3 main agencies(Equifax, Experian, TransUnion). So if you only got it from one of the 3 you are still allowed a free one from the other two.

After that it will cost you, and that depends on the state you live in. It will run anywhere from $8 to $10 per report.

The other way to get a free report is to apply for credit and if you get denied you can send a copy of the letter and receive a free one that way. However, this is not usually a way to go because it would have been considered an inquiry, and too many of those in a short period of time look bad.

If you did not go to my freecreditreport you may be able to get another. If you only got from one reporting agency not all three you can still get it from the other two. The credit score costs money. As for getting another report if you apply for credit and are turned down you can within ninety days request a copy of your report from the agency they used. it tells you who to contact on denial letter. you can get one each time you are denied.

At annualcreditreport.com you can get one free report (not score) from each of the three credit reporting firms each year, so you could get one every 4 months if you go to a different reporting firm each time.

Each state is a little different in what they will allow, you need to check with the three bureaus. Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. They will let you know for sure, most states allow at least one, some allow more if not from the same bureau.
