I would like to enroll in a program to pay off most of my creditors, but it scares me to have to close all of the credit card accounts (which I've heard is often a requirement). I would like to keep at least one open for emergencies. Does anyone know of any agencies that will allow this?

Thanks!

I've got great credit and have had several credit card offers and reject them all. Do you think it wise not to have one? I have saved tons of $$$ from interest by not having one. What do other people think of this?

We are thinking of using a program from them to help reduce our debt. But we don't want to go into it blindly. If anyone has used them, please let us know your experience, good or bad, all pros and cons.

I only opened a checking account at a bank. The bank ran a full credit report on me. This shows in my credit report and hurts my score.

I did not apply for credit, could the bank run a full credit report on me? Did the bank violate the laws?

Somebody got my debit card numbers & street address and I am trying to figure out how. They charged 5 small items and had them mailed to me. According to the companies they charged from, they didn't get my bank account number, phone number or email address. The debit card is frozen and I got the money back, and now I have an extended fraud alert with the credit reporting bureaus. I am trying to figure out how my debit card numbers could have gotten out, because I am reallly careful with the card. But I did read about a breach at TJ Maxx, and I shopped there a couple of months ago.

Did anyone else shop at TJ Maxx and then have their credit or debit card numbers stolen?

The trouble is, since then i have had a baby and suffered bad post natal depression where my husband has temperally gave up work to help me. although we did declare all debt at the time we did have some active clear credit cards on which unfortunatly we have now got into 7000 more debt with and cant afford the minimum payments anymore. My mom was a joint account holder with my dad and is willing to make a payment arrangement with the creditor. She was told to give her social security number and mother's maiden name to their fraud department before they can discuss the acct. Shouldn't they have this info if she is the joint account holder? Why was she forwarded to the fraud dept?

I have some credit card debt on a few diffrent cards. I'm getting tired of trying to keep track of when they are due and paying the high rates. I have owned my home for over a year and a half, and I was looking at and Home Equity Loan, which it appears the APR is at 7% with most banks. Would it be worth getting to pay off my credit cards? And, If I wanted to sell my home, would there be any probelm with having the loan?

I operate the entire business. I am actually the general manager of the business. I have the credentials, meaning that every course needed to be in this position, I have. I relocated for this position. i am in no way benefiting from being here. I love where I work, the only thing that is keeping me here is the opportunity. I am falling behind on bills, I cannot catch up, this to me should not be the case. So DO I go to my employer and show him/her my bills, car payment, food expenses, mortage, maintenece, what DO I do. I do not want to go beck where I came from, but I am not benefiting from being here. $30,000 is not a lot when I only bring home maybe $800.00 every two weeks. Car payment is $485.00, mortage is $495.00, $300.00 debt consolidation, not to mention food, car maintence, bills, WHAT DO I DO? Please think I f this was you what whould you do......

My credit card company erroneously charged me a "pay-by-phone" fee b/c I called to make a payment when their Web site was down. When the rep informed me that I'd be charged a fee, I did not authorize it and said that I would try the Web site again the next day. They went ahead and charged me the fee, anyway. When I called to complain, they refused to waive it. I have almost a zero balance with them at this point. If I leave them and open a credit card w/another company, will it hurt my excellent FICO score?

I applied to Barclaycard online to transfer several balances totalling £4,000, filled in all my details including how much I could pay each month (these are for 0% balance transfers for 12 months) and I get a letter with the new card saying they have set the credit limit to £950.

So I can't transfer the £4,000 over - they said they can increase the credit limit after 3 months but its not guaranteed!

My question is, before I start looking for another card that will accommodate my needs, do all card companies set a specific limit?

Thanks

Ok, I bought a xbox 360 and some games from a shop. It was second hand but this shop sells mostly second hand and ex pawn shop stuff.

Anyway i got it home and set it up and after abotu a hour it started makign a weird noise like the fan was working to hard like a whizzing noise, now I have had one of these computers before and it did not act like this.

So I took it back to shop and he said he did not have an other one so he could not offer me a swap and he was not prepared to offer me a refund cause he said it was not broke, but then offer me a credit note for the store, i did not want this, i want a working computer or my money, in the end he told me to take it away and he would not be swapping it or giving me a refund or credit note, surely he can't do this just because he says it is not broker, thats not fair.
