I'm guessing that you're a Trinidad citizen but are living in the US right now? Unfortunately, there's no way to get a credit card without a social security number. No way around it unless you become a permanent resident of the US or work in the US (with a work visa), then you would qualify to get a social security number. You can however purchase prepaid Visa Cards and MasterCard's that are somewhat like debit cards with a credit card logo that work just like a credit card (but buy them from a legitimate place). Additionally, some banks offer debit cards, with the visa or MasterCard logos (that can be used as credit cards even though they are debit cards) when you open a checking account with them. Not all banks offer these, you need to ask. You will be able to open a bank account at most banks without a social security number but some do not permit it. You'll have to call around or visit a few banks.
Take care.

Bank of America in southern California is trial testing a new credit card that doesn't require a social security number. However, since you are living in Trinidad, you will not qualify.
