I have some old collection on my credit. I am in between 5 - 7 years. Should I pay them off, or leave them a lone. I have no credit card debt just collections....I am trying to see what is the best avenue.
I have been getting offers to pay 50% and I am tempted to do it, so they will show up as paid in full.

I have tried a million times to get the credit card company to close my account. I have a $0 balance, and I've called and received confirmations several times. But still, every month I get an invoice only for the amount of service fees. Each time I call, they say they have no record of the previous times I've called to close the account. This is getting really shady... what can I do?

What should seperate contract between co-signer and main borrower include?
this is what I got so far:
-copy of monthly statement to be sent to my address;
-define co-signers responsibilities (only extend of a credit, no cash obligations);
-discuss how to go about the loan if something happens to the main borrower (lets say that borrower's immidiate relatives must sell borrower's main residence and pay back the loan...)

What else would protect me?

Thanks!

Yesterday, I found out that I was charged $12.95 with FreeCreditReport.com (Triple Advantage). When I called to cancel my membership, the customer service representative said that my membership does not exist. I have two question I hope that someone can answer for me;

1. How can Triple Advantage say that they give you a FREE Credit Report when they charge you $12.95 a month?

2. How do you cancel your service with Triple Advantage because I cannot afford paying $12.95 a month for a charge to an organization that claims to be complementary?

Any assistance is appreciated and thank you for your help.

My credit has gone down the drain. I wish I could pay off my debt but it's just to hard to do. Every penny is count for. Rent food child care daily living expenses. How true are those fix you credit people. I'm thinking about calling them or maybe filing for bankruptcy which I know isn't very good that will be on credit for life. Repairing my credit will show that I paid off my debt I just feel very stressed out and overwhelmed.

My boyfriend left me with a $4000 cingular bill. It is way past due. I've been making many payments. I still owe about $1200. I learned my lesson this time, but meanwhile I don't know what to do. Is it true that as long as I keep making regular payments it will not go to collection? I would really appreciate any advice.

I am 21 and dont have a very long credit history. The only type of credit I have are my revolving accounts. I had way too much debt that I recently paid off and would like to close my accounts. Will that hurt my credit score since thats really the only history I have? And if it doesnt, will it matter if I close them all at once or not. Im trying to improve my credit score so I can a car, house etc...
