I have terrible credit and got a card from Capital One but this didnt help my score, as your just borrowing still, it made it worse and their apr is just out of this world. Its better to use catalogues or buy something over a short repayment period that you can afford and get something back in return, paying interest on a credit card is just like giving away money. I used a mobile phone finance company with no credit checks and a Christmas savings club, park, every time I check my file now it is just improving and showing lenders I am a competant payer as bunches of loans paid or not can sometimes be a negative thing.

Hi
There is no such thing as a credit score!! If you have a bank account that you run sensibly and possibly a loan or two that you always pay you will be building up a good credit rating. Any of the major bank credit cards will also increase your credit rating if you use them regularly and manage them properly. Most companies use equifax to check out somebodies credit rating. You can get your credit report from them for a small fee. Contact them at http://www.equifax.co.uk.
Good luck
Dean

The best way is to find a co-signer with good credit history. If you can ask your friends or parents to be a co-signer. It will help you improve your credit score and avoid high fees.
If you can't there are a lot of card for people with no (or bad) credit history but they provide high fees and low credit limit.
So co-signer is better.

As far as the UK goes, not too sure bout the credit there, but most credit cards are good as long as you pay them off, then use them again, pay off...etc.but as always, start off slow, buy something small(no cars), pay off the fees and the interest, then do it again, just don't let the "BUG" get too deep into your pockets.
Good luck and hope this helps.

They are all the same. However, VISA is the most excepted worldwide so you can use it more often.
Just start off with ones that have smaller limits so you dont get yourself trouble.
