from 2000. I had about 5-6 credit cards, some joint with my ex, some not, but all cards were maxed out. All together totalling around $80 thousand. I don't have much of an income, I don't own anything but the clothes on my back. I'm on disability payments for life. I currently use MoneyMart because after 7 years I'm still scared the banks or credit companies will take the money from my account if I open a bank account. I'm tired of MoneyMart taking off all these fees. Someone told me that after 5 years, they (the banks)will no longer come after me. Is this true?

Last week I called BOA for a settlement of 2 accounts that have been consistantly late or not paid and are over 30% interest. I was given a settlement amount, but when I called back with my banking information, they said no call was ever made and they can't give one to me, I have to pay it in full. They told me to file bankruptcy. My payment due is over $2500. It's over 22K and the payoff was 70%. What to do now? I got a loan for the amount and they will only release the funds to BOA. Its all business debt on a business that went under.

Like if you don't have good credit for instance from mis-paid bills and such, and you are offered a credit card from credit company that accepts you even with bad credit. Does it help you re-build it?

due to some unforeseen medical circumstances, i became behind in my credit card and I now owe just $600 but the thing is due to lack of payment or letting it go over the limit due to stupid fees, they revoked my card. I'm wanting to improve my credit and I was wondering if I paid this all off at one time, what shows on my credit report?

Someone said I should write to Equifax and Experien and tell them about a car loan that I have that is listed on my Trans Union report, but not those two. Is there a specific address I need to write to get them to both list the loans and what should the letter say? (Name of account and account number, balance.) Should I update anythign else they might have incorrect? (Equifax has nothing correct.) And actually Tran Union has my old work place of like 6 years ago, should i have them change that too? Thanks!

I am a single working mom. I have only about $2500 in debt (for school), and owe $3000 on my car that I loaned from a friend and no credit cards debts. Ofcourse i want to pay all this off. I am not interested in buying a house because i am concidering moving back to europe might be beginning 2008 or little later unless i decide to stay here.
Only thing i might concider is that I might upgrade to a better / newer car....
Because i am not sure if i want to stay in the USA i dont want to start my 401k or anything like that ..........and want to be able to take my money whenever i decide to leave the country.
Any ideas advise what to do with my money, BESIDES GIVING IT TO YOU...;)???????????

I had an issue with a company that credited me for a return I made, but still had it as oustanding financially. After about a year of bickering with these people, they claimed to help me and never did and sent my shyt to collections. Apparently collections told me I was credited for the amount, and found out that even though I was credited the company still billed me for the amount. The debt collector is going to do a REVERSE CHARGE OFF for me and will send letters to my credit agencies doing so, as well as myself. Needless to say this made my credit drop.

Anyway, my question is; if reversing the charge off, will all the other items still show on my credit (i.e; the original charge off and claim), or will it show up as the account was paid in full and no derogatory items?

Also will my credit boost back up to the 700's like it was or will it mot make difference if they delete it.

I know im too lazy to do research, oh well...

Somebody answer!!!

Im giving away 10

I need to pass a credit check for employment. I checked my credit out and I have a 596. I'm twenty one years old and I had one credit card that went to collections in 2004 but has been paid off. The lady made it seem like scores were a factor but mainly it's for bankruptcy, foreclosures and repossesions. I have two loans that are in great standing. Do you think I'll be okay? Also, any general advice on how to raise it back up? I'd rather not go for another type of credit card and I've already tried talking to the company and they won't erase it off my credit score.

Any comments?

In the last year or so, ads touting the vital importance of your "credit score" sprouted all over the TV. Why is this thing so important now, but not before?

I made settlement with a collection agency on a debt that was for 1300. the settlement is for 800. the people there actually didnt give me a hard time, I have to send this payment out overnight, I am sending them a money order.

Now i am waiting for them to email the settlement letter. I have not recieved it yet, the supervisor said i would have it, which was an hour ago.

Is there anything i can do to protect myself if i send out the payment without getting the letter. Is there anything i can write on the money order or maybe write up a letter saying this is part of our agreement? would that be enough proof of our agreement if i never get there letter just in case this comes back to haunt me.

any suggestions? Please help i need advice.....
