from 2000. I had about 5-6 credit cards, some joint with my ex, some not, but all cards were maxed out. All together totalling around $80 thousand. I don't have much of an income, I don't own anything but the clothes on my back. I'm on disability payments for life. I currently use MoneyMart because after 7 years I'm still scared the banks or credit companies will take the money from my account if I open a bank account. I'm tired of MoneyMart taking off all these fees. Someone told me that after 5 years, they (the banks)will no longer come after me. Is this true?

As I said, I don't own anything, not even a tv. I'm currently using the computer at the local library.

I'm glad you got your thoughts off your chest! I'm in a similar situation you're in. I know how you feel. I am staring my A levels and can't be bothered to learn anymore- to be honest I don't know why I'm in college in the first place! Anyway, all I can say from my experience is that you have to decide whether you want to get in to University or not. Maybe you should try and make up with your friend, I have lost a best friend because of something which was probably most likely my fault. But in a way I think that was good for me, but it took a long time to get over it. So yeah, don't let that happen to yourself. If you do want to take college seriously, you should make a study timetable so you can seperate where you have free time to chill with your friends, and then obviously when you need to work. This is what I am gonna do, and it should help you. If you can't stick to that then there really is no point in bothering at all. You have to remember that college is the stepping stone to getting a good career to uni- so don't mess up your life! (although that is kind of your decision- lol!) I hope I helped in some small way, eventhough I talk for too long.. Good luck!

They will come after you until you pay up. My husband had stuff from a number of years ago, and when we went to buy a house it all came back to haunt him. I can't imagine it's any different in Canada...as for the 5 year thing, if that was true wouldn't we all be doing it? Seek credit help now, it may not be too late.
