Go to just about any car dealership, most of them have Special finance departments now, or look in your local paper and find a dealer who advertises Special Finance. Then call them and make an appointment, take your co-signer with you and they will most likely be able to help you.

Go to a credit union if you can or a bank. Sit down and tell them you circumstances and that you have a cosigner and would like to get an auto loan. They should be able to give you an amount that they would lend you based on your income. Then research cars that are available in the price range (look at least 20% below what the bank will loan you to cover tax and dealer prep).

Do not get your info from people who sell cars. They may be honest but it is not their business to worry about whether you can afford to pay for the car. A credit union is going to give you info about what you can afford.

If you hav a co-signer than you can still get bank funding. stay away from car lots who specialize in bad credit because the rates are really high. J.D. Byrider is one of those and so are most car lots who advertise for bad credit. Stay with a bank and reubuild your credit and don't default on your loan and harm the co signer.
