I have a credit score of 501
I have 3 credit cards that are with collection agencies that total about $2800
one medical bill with a collection agency that totals about $4,500
I am a full time student and earn about $2300 a month as nanny, but I get paid cash, no taxes
My bills for the month total $1500 (rent, health insurance, electric bill, etc.)
I do not own a car nor do I have a morgage (in case you couldn't have guessed that already)
Should I pay these collection agencies or should I wait until the 7 years is up when they will be taken off my credit report?

I don't have any credit. I'm only 24 and have never had a credit card. My credit is not bad, I just don't have any. I'm a student. I applied for this super cool National Geographic Chase Mastercard w/no annual fee and a 0% introductory apr. Will I get approved? I don't want to get a dumpy student credit card.

Thanks, everyone! :)

If they won't agree on that It I heard it comes off automacticly on your credit report in 7-8 years weither I paid them or not, Is that true?

I'm getting a mixed message regarding this issue.

Some say paying off an OLD CLOSED "charge off" account will help my score and others say it will have a reverse effect.

So which is it?

I am 15 and I plan to do it with a co-signer.

P.S. Yes I am getting a credit card and I won't get into debt so don't start talking about the hazards of credit cards.

My Question is - do i have to pay that bill in order for it to be removed in seven years? I have a bill in collection and it was reported 01/01, will it go off next year or do I need to pay it off in order for it to go away?

What should I do? Should I call the bank and ask why or should I just consider it a benefit of good karma?

Most importantly, am I legally responsible if I don't notify the bank/credit company of their mistake?

Could the credit card company just take the money back out whenever they catch the mistake? Is there a time limit on this?

I'm 24 yrs old, and my father thinks just because i still reside in his house, and because he works in the bank, he is allowed to lower my daily spending limit or block my debit card whenever he wants for whatever reason he wants. It's my own card under my own name, and it's my own money in my own personal savings account.

Is this even legal for him to do without my permission?

Is there any good information online about credit/debit card law as it pertains to this instance, and/or what I can do about this?

I live in Florida. I bought a car and had it financed through Chase Bank. I went online and made the final payment through the site I always made my payments. I recieved a certificate of title on the car a few weeks later.

I am the registered owner, and Chase is listed as the first lienholder.

A month after I got the title, I received a notice from Chase bank that I owe them a final payment, and instructions for payoff. In the letter it says I need to pay the payoff amount and I will receive the title. The payoff amount is the same dollar amount of which I already paid. I already have a the title (I thought). I have called them, and so far I haven't been able to get anywhere. I say I don't owe, they say I do.

If I have the title can they come and take it?

I can not find the transaction on my bank records. I am still searching.

I have about 15k of debt and I would like to take care of it one big go. So pay the maximum on each debt to get it wiped. Now my question is, if I ring up the collection agencies and tell them this, do you think they would accept my one demand of having all information wiped from my credit report? Especially if I asked for it in writing, etc, before sending any payment?

I know of a person (family member) that is about $65,000 in debt. This is not a car loan or a house loan or even student loan debt, but I think most of it is credit cards (if not all). I only know this because officers (people that serve you when you are being sued) have been coming to my house and asking for her. She hasn't lived there in about 4 years but I think is still using this address whey applying for more loan crap. As in I still get lawyer letters and credit card apps sent daily. This lady is almost 65, threw away all of her retirement about 3 years ago on some offshore deal. Also her ex-husband (if they were every married) supposedly owes her 75K. What will happen to this person, she has no assets and owes big money… Also is old, retired, but works a few days a week. Will this debt be put on her kids if she dies with it? Also can she go to jail or is this just 100% civil suites?

I was being sued by a collections company after many hours of reserch to find out who the company was since the company was going by a AKA.I finially reached them by phone I wanted to make payments with them.I told her I could make $50.00 a month and sometimes more when I had extra money. She said that they can collect 25% of my income they demanded at first $ 525.00 a month I told her I could not afford that then she wanted $150.00 a month I told her all I could afford is $50.00 a month she stated they would need $100.00 a month.I can not find anything on the Fair Debt if its true that they can demand 25% of my income.
