I don't have any credit. I'm only 24 and have never had a credit card. My credit is not bad, I just don't have any. I'm a student. I applied for this super cool National Geographic Chase Mastercard w/no annual fee and a 0% introductory apr. Will I get approved? I don't want to get a dumpy student credit card.

Thanks, everyone! :)

If you've never had a credit card, don't screw up & get one NOW. The fact that a stupid card has a rhino on it or something is a DUMB reason to start using one (not that there are any GOOD reasons, either). You have survived this long w/o a credit card, you can keep up the good track record. Why do want a credit rating so badly? So you can go into debt for crap you can't afford to actually own outright? So some sleaze that works at WalMart or your dentist ofc can steal your cc # & charge a bunch of crap on it that THEY can't afford? There just are not any good reasons to have a credit rating. It is an "I Love Debt!" rating, nothing more. I unfortunately do have a credit score b/c I used to love debt - student loans, ccs, house, etc. But no more! We are aggressively paying it off & I look forward to the day when I have a ZERO credit score!

Here is a website of the guy who wrote the book "Total Money Makeover". He is a completely debt-free millionaire. You should think about listening to him. I have.

Chances are, you may get approved being that you're just starting out, but then again since you don't have any credit, you might not. Having no credit is actually worse than having bad credit. Reason for that when you have bad credit, at one point you had to have good credit in order for it to get that way. When you don't have credit at all, the lender doesn't have a way to know what they're dealing with, so it's like a gamble. The easiest way to get a credit card is to get a secured card. The downside to it is that you have to put up money up front in a savings account in order to secure a line of credit. The upside is that if you make your payments on time and show that you're responsible, it will become an unsecured card and you get your deposit back with interest. But I hope that you're able to get it, and remember, charge wisely.

Hi,

Instant Credit Cards Approval

Today instant approval of a credit card and getting it immediately occurs in less than a minute. This is not like the olden days, where the credit card was issued after at least a month.

Internet Technology and Security – Secret of Instant Approval

Internet has completely revolutionized all aspects of our lives and one of them is credit card approval. It has totally altered the manner in which card-issuing banks can find consumer information and take a decision on an applicant’s credit worthiness. Almost all major financial institutions who offer credit cards, let you fill the application online by using the Internet.

You may not get approved for a regular card without any credit history. If you are approved, you will not qualify for the 0% introductory APR. I know you don't want a student card, but those are the easiest to get approved for when you don't have any credit, unless you want a secured card.

I like my dumpy student credit card, but I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be approved. Credit card companies are always trying to reel more people in. I know you said you had no credit but I'm assuming you do have a job. Good luck!

Haha! No way till you try to get a low-interest card. ANY credit card enterprise provide you a card in case you will fill out the utility...that is basically a rely of whether or no longer they're going to butcher you with the expenses of interest.

Don't get credit cards! It leads to troubles if you're not a wise person!

I'm 21, and got myself into trouble already, got my first CC at 18, and got myself into $5000 debt. I paid everything off with my extra cash just recently and now they're gone!
The 0% is only temporary, watch for small print and Agreements, and nothing more than 12%APR

I have a Capitol One at 12% So and So
MBNA/Bank of America 7% GREAT!
First Financial Bank at 19.99% <------BAD!
