My Question is - do i have to pay that bill in order for it to be removed in seven years? I have a bill in collection and it was reported 01/01, will it go off next year or do I need to pay it off in order for it to go away?

The collection will fall off your report after the 7 year limit is up. Depending on where you live, though, the creditor can sue you if the statute of limitations has not passed. Please see the link below for your state's length of time an agency can sue you.
