There is only one site where you can get your report for free, without having to sign up for anything or pay anything. You can also get your report free once per year from the individual credit reporting agencies.

The other sites lure you in with a promise of a "free" report, but as you have discovered, it's not.

That's good selling dog, you have to read the fine print and carefully navigate through the site. Better yet, call one (1) of the big boys directly and have one of them explain to you how you are entitled to a free bureau report and what the interval is between the next free report you are entitled to receive; Trans Union, Eqiufax and Experian will be able to get you started.

They say free to draw you in. They will give you a free credit report, but the fine print will tell you that you have to sign up for some type of package.

You are using the wrong sites. A lot more people are interested in their credit now and companies have decided on a way to make money. Use the site offered by the government. http://www.annualcreditreport.com

you only get one free report a year and you have to go to the right site

are you talking about those offers on the internet? you usually have to enter your credit card info for the monitoring service and if you cancel before the specified time, usually 30 days, is up, they don't charge you.

because there is no such thing as a free lunch. I am sure there is a way to get it for free, however, the people who knows how to get it for free is charging other people and not telling anyone how to get it for free.
