The debt is approx. 5 years old and has left some very negative remarks on my credit report.
Problem is ...I have been paying the lawyers office and the debt is nearly gone. I would like the negative comments and the words "missed payments" removed. The credit bureau has not kept up with the debt and is misinformed.
I tried to contact Capital One because I believe they don't realize the debt has been turned over and an agreement has been made.
I told the lawyers office of the problem. They said Capital One is the problem. They said they cannot remove anything negative that a creditor has put on my report. The comments look a helluva lot worst than the actual debt is and needless to say everytime I see it... I get very upset and feel like Capital One is trying to sabotage me by keeping it there.
HELP...HELP...HELP...

I called today to try to arrange payments, and they wouldn't let me do what I could afford ($50 dollars a month). They said that I had to do $100 or they wouldn't do it. Can they do this? He said that even if I sent in the money ($50 a month) they were going to garnish my wages and they would "continue collection efforts". Can they do this?

I have under $5000 in debt, and I want to make payments, but the payments I can afford, are not even covering the interest I am being charged. This debt was written off as bad debt, and killing my credit along with my debt growing. Does anyone have ideas in ways to get this debt lowered, by negotiating? The majority of the debt came fom Capital One and the agency who now has the account said that they will not negotiate a payment plan with me, per Capital One's requirements. They will work with me on a payoff, but I cannot afford the payoff. Any ideas out there?

I have tried to obtain a loan from my bank but have been unsuccessful. My credit rating isn't particularly good from the past.
I need to get a loan, preferrably that pays out within a couple of days. Please can you advise me of the best places to look (without having to pay an administration fee). Thanks

I have a loan/charge account with Wells Fargo that I'm wanting to pay off (currently owe around $2400).

I've gotten two quotes that are pretty close in comparison. Which would be the best way to go.

First Financial Bank - 36 Months @ 10.99% - I don't know how much loan fees are there - I'm sure they're at least $100+

Teacher's Credit Union - 36 Months @ 12.5% - No Loan Fees or Application Fees.

I recently tried to finance a car (knowing that my credit wasn't great), and was crushed to find out that not only wasn't it great but I fell into some category called "double 0". So when the dealer asked me "what happened?" I told him that I received a "special credit card offer" from capital one when I was 16! He then told me that it was illegal for the credit card companies to post any type of credit ratings on my credit report since I was under 18 at the time. He also told me I should contact the Attorney Generals office and notify them of this. I checked my credit report and it is listed on there as "Account Opened in 2001" (when I was 16!) Basically all I want to know is there some truth to this? I also want to know if it would be wiped off my credit report if I did notify the Attorney General. Please let me know

Thanks
Samantha
