Don't pay either, find a lawyer, and sue the **** out of the original debt holder ----- they sold your debt to two different places, which is illegal.

This can happen as many charged off debts get sold after charge off. Not uncommon for two bottom feeders to end up with the same debt. The sad part is, if it has been sold, the debt was already paid by the insurance claim the original creditor already collected on covering the balance of the account. You may not be legally responsible for paying that debt. For more info, please visit, www.AttorneyDebtHelp.net for your FREE attorney consultation.

1. Pay the debt directly to the creditor not the collections agency. 2. Notify the credit reporting agency that you want to dispute the 2 claims and that the debt was paid to the creditor.

Dispute it. That is a common error which appears on the reports (due to agancies buying the collections from others or the original creditor being bougt out/merging with other companies). The bureau will remove the duplicate.

MR KNOW IT ALL apparently does not know it all. it's simply a mix up called a double placement. it happens. contact the original creditor and tell them. they will tell you which agency to pay. odds are, it was placed originally at agency #1. you didnt pay it during it's lifetime with the agency and they placed it a agency #2.I AM A DEBT COLLECTOR. this occasionally happens.

That is illegal. Hire yourself a lawyer and file two simultaneous complaints of illegal collection, and one master complaint of illegal collection against the company you owe - the lawyers letter will explain why now you no longer owe that debt and explain the extreme criminal charges and financial recovery charges you will now file against these 3 organizations. In the end you get big bucks! Sue the heck out of them!
