Cease and Desist letter.

Always, read the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting ACt.

Unfortunately, many debt collectors rely on your credit ignorance to intimidate and harass.

Of course, I don't know your situation, prompting the bankruptcy filing. However, I hope you're aware of the new law (October 2005) regarding bankruptcy, i.e. ch. 7 & 13.

Many consumer advocates believe the new BK laws strongly favor your creditors.

Learn what collection agencies can and cannot do by law. YOu'll be surprised that you ever put up with their crap.

And you'll learn it's easy to sue creditors and collection agencies in small claims court (Florida, that is) and get a summary judgment.

Each violation could cost the collection agency $1,000 -- this the law. Study the FDCPA and the FCRA. It's in there, or sign up today for our credit repair at www.fixmyuglycredit.com

Good luck.

It relies upon on how the creditor proceeds. If the creditor is using to the debtor on the debtor's final time-commemorated handle, they seem to have a spectacular to try this. (as assessment using on your father). it rather is, a call to make certain whether the debtor has back to this handle, or mail addressed to the debtor, no longer your father, they do no longer seem to be harassing him, lots because it would experience that way. One means hitch here could be in the adventure that your father cosigned a be conscious. Then no volume of calling is harassment. If the mail is addressed on your father, he can no longer only forget approximately approximately, yet could tell them formally that he disowns the debt. this could be superb finished with the aid of notary's letter.

Tell the creditors that you are in the process of filing bankrupcy. Also tell them, or better yet, have your boss tell them that you are not allowed to recieve personal calls at work.

It is very simple...Write a letter advising them that they no longer can contact you by phone and can only contact you by mail. Have the letter notarized and send it off. The calls will stop.
