If it is a collection agency then call actual creditor. If it is the creditor then send the payment amount due - they do not have to accept partial payments. If you can not afford to pay this amount then try working out a deal.

The collection company doesn't have to accept partial payments. Here is what I did: the company wouldn't accept partial payments do I sent them a registered letter requesting them to validate my debt. The company has to provide you with a contract between the collection co and the card co also a COMPLETE payment history and the contract between you abd the card so. If they do not respond in 15 days send them a copy of the letter you sent the first time, a copy of the register slip (you have to send registered mail with sig confirmation) and a second request. If they do not respond or cannot supply you with the info as requested...you do not owe the debt.

You may want to site the law that tells you this. Search under collection law fair credit

Record all the information. Get it down in writing. Hire a lawyer. Have him send an official notification to the Credit Card company stating that you had offered to pay the bill in question, but they would not take your money, and therefore they broke the law and the credit is now null and void and you no longer owe any money whatsoever, and they have to mark the credit as paid and remove the credit item from your credit report.

Call the credit card company and advise them their debt collector is refusing payments. Ask for a manager.
