You may be eligible to receive a benefit from a class-action settlement if you purchased and paid for a credit score or credit monitoring from ConsumerInfo.com or an Experian Entity between June 17, 1998 and December 27, 2006. A federal court has directed that this notice be sent to inform you of a proposed class-action settlement. Records show that you entered into an agreement over the Internet with ConsumerInfo.com or an Experian Entity to purchase any Credit Check or Credit Check Monitoring (which were formerly known as CreditCheck® Monitoring Service), Credit Manager (including Yahoo! Credit Manager), Triple Alert, or Triple Advantage credit-monitoring product, or you paid for a credit score sold on a website that also sold one of these credit-monitoring products, between June 17, 1998 and December 27, 2006. If so, you may be eligible to receive a benefit under the proposed settlement.

The website is www.browningsettlement.com I think this may be a scam.

Imagine this. your spouse gets access to your personal infosuch as ssn, dob etc.. They open up some charge cards in your name w/o your knowledge - get the statements- you never see them - charge on them - make payments to them. Even use cards you are aware of -you report charges not yours - payments not yours. you spot charges that are not yours - you spot payments not yours - you tell them there was an error - they send you a letter confirming - they change your credit card number to stop the fraud - but then the card comes to you at work, the person is once again aware of your new card number- Again the same thing happens - charges and payments not yours..... where might this be going? .
Well , imagine this type of identity scam - 4-5 years later and you are now being sued for any money that they CLAIM they paid on your cards!! Credit companies say it is rare - but it has happened. years later - how do you defend ?

I cosigned for a car with a friend a couple of years ago. The only reason i did this was the dealer had told me that within a year my name would have been removed. So two years later she can't afford to make the payments on the car. I find out that she let the car go into repossession. Months later it shows up on my report saying we still owe about $13,000. She is now claiming to file for bankrupsy and she tells me when she does this is will remove the car from my report. I don't believe it I think I am going to become fully responsible for this. I think it's unfair because I did her a favor in the first place. Can someone please help me.

I have bad credit from when I was younger and I wanted to know what the best strategy was to attack it and begin to fix it head-on. I can pay them down now, but they are from years (more than 3 in some cases) and I really want to fix them the best way possible.

I went today and payed a medical collection to the original creditor. The orignal creditor signed a statement saying that they will take it out of collections and that I had no knowledge of any unpaid bills to the account because they sent all information regarding this account to an incorrect address. Will this collection be removed from my credit report entirely? or will it say paid in full? Is there anything elese I can do to get this removed?

What is the average time it takes for a persons score to increase if they are paying all their bills on time and paying down installment loans and credit cards. How much should it increase in say 7 months. We are trying to get ready to buy a house and hoping to get everything in order in the next few months. We filed bankruptcy (ch 7) 4 years ago. Right now my credit score is 614.

I recently paid off an auto loan. It had quite a few times that it was 30 days or more late. I was not responsible for paying the loan as I gave the car to a friend and they were not paying on time. The car was still in my name and my husbands name. My question is now that it is paid off, how long will it be before I see an increase in my credit score. This was the only account that I had that has a negative paying history. It says closed and balance 0 on my credit report now.

If I made a settlement with a collection agency and have it in writing that they can make a 1 time withdraw from my bank account for a certain amount, and no more and that will settle my debt in full....is it illegal for them to take more than that amount out of my account....or come back later and take more on a different day?

I would like to lower my debt to income ratio. I am paying off my debt as much as I can every month. My debt is around 7K. I have 500 open on a credit card and 700 on another. So if a mortgage broker was looking at my debt to income ratio would it be 5800 since I have the open lines of credit??
